For those of you that read my previous Guide to Free Internet Phone Calls or my horrible issues with Packet8 service, you’ll recall that I have long been a supporter of ATT CallVantage service.
Well, I was upset to learn today that AT&T has quietly lowered the monthly rates on their CallVantage service without notifying existing customers of this fact – or adjusting their billing!

Say hello to the newest weapon in the US Military’s arsenal. The good news? It’s non-lethal! The bad news? If you get hit by it you’ll wish you were dead until it stops. :-)
The new Active Denial System which produces what experimenters call the “Goodbye effect,” or “prompt and highly motivated escape behavior.” In human tests, most subjects reached their pain threshold within 3 seconds, and none of the subjects could endure more than 5 seconds.

Today I went to see Al Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I had heard a lot of positive buzz about the film and the IMDB rating is 8.2, which is off the chart.
The movie is a documentary and is more like sitting through a PowerPoint presentation than actually watching a movie. In fact, the vast majority of the movie is watching Mr. Gore actually giving a presentation to an audience somewhere. Although that might sound a bit boring, the movie grabbed and held my attention from beginning to end.
