Who is Sarah Palin? Well, in addition to being the presumptive Vice Presidential candidate for John McCain’s Presidential run in 2008, and the Governor of Alaska, she’s a hottie.
Palin attended Wasilla High School in Wasilla, Alaska, where she was the head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at the school and the point guard and captain of the school’s basketball team. She helped the team win the Alaska small-school basketball championship in 1982, hitting a critical free throw in the last seconds of the game, despite having an ankle stress fracture at the time. She earned the nickname “Sarah Barracuda” because of her intense play and was the leader of team prayer before games.

Wow. I reported that Bush commuted Libby’s sentence yesterday, but today Keith Olbermann calls for Bush and Cheney to resign and seriously rips them a new one! A few choice comments:
- “I accuse you, Mr. Bush, of lying this country into war.”
- I accuse you of handing part of this Republic over to a Vice President who is without conscience, and letting him run roughshod over it.
- I accuse you of subverting the Constitution, not in some misguided but sincerely-motivated struggle to combat terrorists, but to stifle dissent.
- I accuse you of causing in Iraq the needless deaths of 3,586 of our brothers and sons, and sisters and daughters, and friends and neighbors.
- And I accuse you now, Mr. Bush, of giving, through that Vice President, carte blanche to Mr. Libby, to help defame Ambassador Joseph Wilson by any means necessary, to lie to Grand Juries and Special Counsel and before a court, in order to protect the mechanisms and particulars of that defamation, with your guarantee that Libby would never see prison, and, in so doing, as Ambassador Wilson himself phrased it here last night, of becoming an accessory to the obstruction of justice.

We are squarely in the center of the anniversary of one of the most un-American acts of any President and congress in recorded history - the forced internment during World War II of 120,000 people of Japanese decent - of which 62% were US citizens.
This action was so intolerable that four successive presidents later acted on it. Gerald Ford rescinded the law that enabled the travesty, Jimmy Carter convened a commission to study the effects and issue reparations, Ronald Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 into law based on the Carter commission recommendations, and George H.W. Bush signed an appropriation bill authorizing payments.
Our own government’s official apology document stated the internment was based on “race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership”. As citizens we must remember that our own government can, and will, sometimes make horrendous decisions which violate our most basic constitutional rights. It is up to every person of conscious to understand and oppose injustice.

While spending a few weeks in the nation’s capital I decided to go visit a few of the famous sites and get some photos at night. You often see pictures of these famous monuments in the day, but I would argue that they are most beautiful after dark.
You also have the added benefit that there is almost no one around if you go after 10pm, especially on a weekday. So, here they are for your viewing amusement.

A study just released from George Mason University’s economics department has finally proven what everyone always sort of just knew. Local law enforcement officials target certain drivers and issue more, and higher dollar fines whenever they can get away with it.
Police officers have long argued that they issue tickets solely in the public interests, but ask almost anyone about the last ticket they received and you’ll often hear of some trivial incident like “failing to stop for 2 complete seconds at a stop sign on a Wednesday night at 2am.”
Now you know why…

Wow.This is not a joke! The US Transportation Security Agency has already installed a machine in the Phoenix airport that literally sees through 100% of your clothes down to your bare skin and can display high resolution images of you in all your naked glory.
Assuming that all goes well with the initial run of the backscatter at Sky Harbor, similar technologies will be introduced to a number of other major U.S. airports early in 2007.

First, the disclaimer. I am not a member of any political party. When it comes to voting candidates must earn my vote based upon the issues I actually care about.
Now, moving on… There is a very amusing little video working it’s way around the Internet in which a man offers $100 if anyone can name all of the Republicans who are “under criminal investigation or already convicted” in just one breath.
This is a fantastic piece of marketing, although in my opinion it’s almost completely without merit. The video is 59 seconds long, and only 15 names are read, but it leaves you with the general impression that all Republicans are, well… criminals. Here, see for yourself:

In case you haven’t noticed, searching through the US Government’s Web sites is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Luckily for us, Google has arranged for a nifty U.S. Government Search.
So if you want to know once and for all: who killed John F. Kennedy (or at least the official version), where the aliens landed at Roswell, or what the deal is with Bonnie and Clyde… well, now you know where to get it.
