Butterscotch the Robot PonyThis toy is ridiculous. It’s like taking the Furby entirely to the next level.

I was at Sam’s Club (the warehouse equivalent of Wal-Mart) when I came across this miniature robotic pony, and I whipped out my cell phone and took the attached video.

I can’t believe these things even exist, and it just shows how close we are to having little robots walking around playing with our kids.

Horseback Riding on Lanai

John P on HorsebackWhile vacationing in Lanai one of the activities I chose to partake in was horseback riding. Although I stayed at the Four Seasons Resort at Manele Bay, the sister property, Four Seasons Lodge at Koele, offers a full featured equestrian center called The Stables at Koele.

The Stables (tel. 808/565-4424) offer various rides, including group rides which they describe as “a slow, gentle walk”, starting at $65 for a 1 1/2-hour trip. The good news is that it was “slow”. The bad news is that it was not “gentle”.

650 Foot Long Horse Earth Sculpture

SultanOver in the UK there is a 650 foot long earth sculpture of a running horse called Sultan the Pit Pony. It’s an amazing piece of work, and it’s perfect for viewing three dimensionally in Google Earth.
