The Amazing Convertible House – Yes, the Top Slides Off!

convertible-houseI’ve seen come cool things in life, but I must admit I’ve never seen a “convertible” house before.

A couple in England, who had never built a house before, decided to move out to the country and use their imagination and capital to build one of the most unique houses on the planet. The top instruction to their architect was, “we are prepared to be radical”.

The brief was simple: to build a house to retire to in order to grow food, entertain and enjoy the East Anglia landscape. The outcome was as unconventional as they come. A structure that has the ability to vary or connect the overall building’s composition and character according to season, weather or simply a desire to delight. Wallpaper* took a trip to the site to capture the physical phenomenon in the only medium that serves it justice – film.

While sites like Zillow.com and Reply.com help you determine the actual value of any piece of property. But Redfin.com is about to seriously bring power to the people.

Property Valuation for Dummies

ZillowEver heard the phrase “Google me”? Well, Zillow.com is going to do the same for your house.

If you want to find information about a person, you can simply type their name in Google and see what you come up with. Now for a name like mine (John Pozadzides) that’s pretty simple. But if you’re John Smith, good luck finding the right person.

Zillow.com however, is going to make finding information about your home as simple as possible. Just plug in a street address, and the site attempts to predict the value of the home “…and you don’t have to enter any personal information, and no one will contact you.”
