I first learned about this heart touching story over on The Australian. It seems that a group of fire fighters, who had been battling a massive raging inferno, responsible for killing at least 180 people, came upon a dehydrated and injured little Koala in a burned out area of the forest.
One of the firemen, Dave, got some water and approached the animal to try and care for it. Amazingly, she accepted his help, and he was able to give her 3 bottles of water. This story ends well, although as many as one million animals are suspected to have perished in the blaze.

If you haven’t heard of Randy Pausch, you need to. Randy was a Carnegie Mellon Professor (Oct. 23, 1960 – July 25, 2008) who gave his famous last lecture at the university on Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium.
In his moving presentation, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. The significance of the lecture was that Randy was dying of cancer.

It’s been a little while since I’ve dished out my weekly links. Let’s see if I can get back in the habit from here on out…

First of all, I’m going to have to apologize for the fact that this video starts automatically. I tried to fix that, but couldn’t get the code to work properly. If anyone knows how to fix it I’m all ears…
Anyway, this is a very inspirational little video that is appropriate for a wide range of audiences, though it was targeted at corporate motivation. Take a look, then come and tell me why exactly you don’t think you can make a difference…

Ok, this is something I never thought I would see. As far as inspiration is concerned, it’s right up there with the Father and Son Team Hoyt, only this time it’s man’s best friend that proves anything is truly possible.
Daryn Kagan brings you the inspiring story of Faith, a 2-legged dog who walks upright on her back legs and shows the world you don’t have to be complete to be complete.

A while back I wrote about one of the most inspiring stories I’ve ever heard about, the father and son team of Richard Hoyt and Richard Hoyt Jr. Well, in the June 2007 issue of Men’s Health magazine Richard Jr. published a huge father’s day letter to his dad. I figured it would be appropriate to share given that we’re only a week away.
You have to realize that it takes an extraordinary effort for him to communicate in this manner, so the length and eloquence of the message are moving.

This is quite possibly the most inspirational and touching thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s the story of Dick and Rick Hoyt, and words don’t do it justice so just watch the video.
And guys… don’t watch this around anyone you don’t want to see you weep. Trust me. And by the way, stop making excuses for not doing anything with your life!
