The Ariel Atom - The Naked SuperCar

Ariel AtomThe Ariel Atom is absolutely the most impractical car you’ll ever lust after. It has no trunk, roof, windshield, doors… hell, even the seats are made of plastic. But none of that matters, because it is the third fastest production car on Earth. And it’s cheap.

My favorite quote from Jeremy Clarkson’s road test of the Atom:

Greatest Supercar Video Shootout of All Time!

Ex F1 driver Martin Brundle thrashes $5,000,000 worth of supercars on both the race track and around town. Wait till you see how many times he scrapes the front air dam on the Ferrari F40!

Unfortunately he doesn’t go to task on an NSX (like mine) because it only does 170 MPH and this test is only for supercars that will top 200 MPH!

The lineup here consists of a McLaren F1, Ferrari F40, F50, F60, Pagani Zonda S, Bugatti EB110, Jaguar XJ220, TVR T440R, Lamborghini Diablo GT, and Koenigsegg CC8S. Basically we’re talking about supercars that are built only in editions of hundreds, as opposed to a few hundred per year.
