Ok. The most awesome thing about this video is half way into it when they have a drag race between the Murcielago and a VW Golf GT. Now, the VW is quite quick. I’d say that it’s faster than the vast majority of cars on the road. But the Lambo absolutely and unequivocally destroys it.
Now, I’ll grant that the Murcielago is faster and more expensive than the Lamboghini Gallardo. But if you watch the other video and this one back to back you can see why I’d take the Gallardo every day!

Ok. This is awesome. Wired magazine has published an article that proves once and for all that Women get as hot and bothered by exotic cars as men do (or more)!
A study commissioned by a phallically named insurance company proves beyond all doubt that the unbridled roar of an Italian supercar turns women on but the soft purr of a fuel-efficient econobox doesn’t stimulate anyone’s MPG-spot.

A couple of years ago I wrote about the Toyota Volta. I said that if Toyota would build it, I would take the very first one. And I was dead serious. But of course, just like every other car manufacturer on the freakin planet, they didn’t!
What is it with these car manufacturers that prevents them from building 3-seat sports cars? Seriously, they can just take a normal vehicle like a Corvette and widen it a little to fit the third seat. This would have the benefit of providing a wider footprint which would even help with performance. In addition, it would place the driver dead center in the vehicle for perfect left/right weight distribution.
Toyota wasn’t the first to disappoint me, nor will they be the last. Here is a list of other concept cars that I know of which have never come to fruition. If you know of others please let me know.

The Ariel Atom is absolutely the most impractical car you’ll ever lust after. It has no trunk, roof, windshield, doors… hell, even the seats are made of plastic. But none of that matters, because it is the third fastest production car on Earth. And it’s cheap.
My favorite quote from Jeremy Clarkson’s road test of the Atom:
Over the years I’ve flown F-15 fighters and done power-slides in airboats and straffed the desert in helicopter gunships, but for sheer excitement this thing is off the scale.

The Wrightspeed X1 Electric Supercar is completely awesome, even if it’s only a prototype and has no chance of ever moving into production.
The good news however is that they are working on plans for a real production car of which they say:
The X1 production car will be better… much better.

Ok. Maybe I won’t be plopping down $200k for one of these any time soon, but I must say that I’ve never seen a car magazine test reviewer so enamored with any vehicle. Ever.
Check out the video to see what I mean.

Ex F1 driver Martin Brundle thrashes $5,000,000 worth of supercars on both the race track and around town. Wait till you see how many times he scrapes the front air dam on the Ferrari F40!
Unfortunately he doesn’t go to task on an NSX (like mine) because it only does 170 MPH and this test is only for supercars that will top 200 MPH!
The lineup here consists of a McLaren F1, Ferrari F40, F50, F60, Pagani Zonda S, Bugatti EB110, Jaguar XJ220, TVR T440R, Lamborghini Diablo GT, and Koenigsegg CC8S. Basically we’re talking about supercars that are built only in editions of hundreds, as opposed to a few hundred per year.
