Thanks to Peggy for sending me this video of a stunt pulled off by Improv Everywhere, whose slogan is “we cause scenes”. The setup is that 207 people all walking through Grand Central Station in New York all freeze in place at the exact same second, and hold still for a full 5 minutes.
Most interestingly, it’s inspired people in 28 other cities in 13 countries to stage their own freeze mission. Thousands people worldwide in places like Romania, Poland, Italy, Germany, Sweden, and New Zealand have come together to make time stop for five short minutes. Below is a roundup of all of the videos of the various global freeze events.

It’s official, Live Earth was the largest media event in human history with over 2 BILLION people watching across every continent on the planet. In case you are feeling caught up in the global warming debate I’d suggest that the argument is over. The only thing left to do now is help decide on what is going to be done, not if something is going to be done.
This little video sums up the spirit of the event nicely if you ask me… every little thing contributes – so each of us can make a global difference.
If you are interested in seeing how your personal habits impact the environment try the Lifestyle Calculator. I hate to admit it but I seem to have a horrible score. The range is from 105-900 with the average in the US being 325.
Personally I’m at a despicable 608 – I’m guessing it has to do with all of my air travel. I guess I need to pay closer attention to the list of things you can do to fight global warming. (Here is another big list.)

Wow, Panoramas.dk is one of the greatest sites I’ve ever come across. It features a number of three dimensional panoramas which allow you to virtually look around a given space. This is a technology that can only flourish on the Web since you cannot move around inside a static photograph.
There are virtual reality panoramas of the Eiffel Tower, Carnival in Rio, a Camel Carts in Bikaner India, a human Zoo, an ariel view of Sydney Australia and even the Apollo Moon Landings.
The site can be a little difficult to navigate so I compiled the following list of several I enjoyed.

I don’t mean for this to sound insensitive, but… Great! Now every moron that decides to scribble a bomb threat on a napkin and leave it on a plane can ensure that the aviation industry cowers to their prank.

For those who haven’t see it yet, here is a short excerpt from the BBC News.
A plot to blow up planes in flight from the UK to the US and commit “mass murder on an unimaginable scale” has been disrupted, Scotland Yard has said.
It is thought the plan was to detonate explosive devices smuggled in hand luggage on to as many as 10 aircraft.

This video of London was taken over an extended period of time. I’m thinking a few days… anyway, it is awesome! It starts out a little slow, but the clouds are nice. Then when night starts check out the lights in the buildings.
The trick to keeping up with the coolness of this video is paying attention to the details. For example, did you see the cranes?
