Crazy Motorcycle Riding in India

0

Crazy-Motorcycle-RidingI saw this video weeks ago, but never posted it. However, every single time I ride my motorcycle on the highway I think of this. I can’t help it! It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen on a motorcycle!

This guy is laying down on his motorcycle riding through traffic in India, where no one respects lanes, and texting on his cell phone! Unbelievable!!! I wish I was actually this good.

How to WheelieDid you ever seen those maniacs who ride wheelies down the road in traffic despite the fact that they are placing themselves and everyone else around them at risk? Whenever I see them I:

  1. Can’t take my eyes off them; wonder if they are going to crash the whole time I’m ignoring the road and staring at them; want to punch them in the face for being such idiots.
  2. Wish I could do that.

So, if you’ve decided to be a complete bonehead and are going to learn how to wheelie your ride, at least watch this video produced by SuperBike Magazine.

The Ridley Automatic Motorcycle (with a CVT)

0

Ridley ChopperI think most of you know that I’m a huge motorcycle fan by now. And there may be a few folks out there who would really like to ride a motorcycle, but who are afraid of the learning curve. Well, the Ridley would be a great option because it’s got a completely automatic transmission that using one of those CVTs that I wrote about a little while back.

Basically, riding a Ridley would be like riding a super-sized scooter since all you have to do is twist the throttle to go, and squeeze the brakes to stop. There is no need to worry about clutching with one hand, braking with the other, while twisting one throttle and shifting with the other foot. Leaves a lot more time to pay attention to balance and just enjoying the ride.

10 of the Coolest Machines You Could Ever Hope to Ride

0

The Riot WheelI was entertaining myself for hours this evening while perusing all of the crazy ways man has invented to move himself from point A to point B. After we mastered the most efficient methodology, apparently we turned our attention and energy towards also creating the most inefficient methods possible.

Why would we do this? Well, beyond the very basic primal need for horsepower… I’m guessing there was either a bet or a dare behind most of these creations. Either that, or they built em to attract the chicks!

T-Rex, the Fastest 3 Wheeler on Earth

0

Campagna T-rexI can’t believe I never wrote about the T-Rex before! I talk about it all the time with people, but I guess I just never bothered to share it here. Well, we’re fixing that right now!

In this video, Tiff from Fifth Gear takes the T-Rex out for a little spin on a cold, windy, rainy day in the UK. Despite the dismal weather, and the fact that he is completely exposed to it, just watch how much fun he’s having at 100 MPH while skidding around the wet track.

For anyone who isn’t quite clear about this… I’m completely jealous. And to think. You can pick one of these up right now for a mere $50 grand.

Sport Tourer Comparo: BMW R1200RT vs. Sprint ST vs. Yamaha

0

Red Triumph Sprint STDamn I love motorcycles. I kid you not. I wish I lived somewhere that I could ride one all day every day. Like Hawaii or Southern California. And if I’m going to ride, I want the comfort of a touring bike, but also the performance of a sport bike.

Since I’m not alone, manufacturers have created the Sport Touring category. And the three finest bikes available (in my opinion) are the BMW R1200RT, the Triumph Sprint ST and the Yamaha FJR1300.

Each rider is going to have a different preference among these bikes, but what I’m going to do is try and explain the different qualities that allow each of us to determine which type of rider we are.

The Vectrix Electric Scooter

0

Vectrix ScooterThe Vectrix is a brand new battery powered maxi-scooter capable of carrying two adults around town all day in silence without burning a single drop of gasoline.

Here are a few stats:

  • This sucker weighs a whopping 462 lbs (Holy bloat Batman)! That is as much as my old 160 MPH Sprint ST!
  • The electric motor produces 48 lb ft. of torque (65 nm) and 27 horsepower (20.2 kw)
  • Accelerating the big scooter to 50 mph takes 6.8 seconds.
  • Top speed is 62 MPH, with a max range of 68 miles at 25 MPH. (Range decreases with higher speeds.)
  • The battery pack has a rated battery capacity of 3.7Kwh and is designed for up to 1,700 full charging cycles.
  • The 1.5 kW on-board charger plugs into a standard outlet and provides an 80% charge in just over 2 hours.
  • Effective cost of operation should be 10% of the equivalent cost of gasoline.

Deer Jumps Motorcycle

0

Deer Jumps MotorcycleFor all the idiots out there that don’t wear a helmet when you ride, here is more justification. (Not that you’ll listen. I know you’re too cool for a helmet.)

This deer almost clips a rider’s head while jumping over him. It’s an amazing piece of film.

The New Definition of Bling, Bling

0

WheelsFool, you ain’t got game unless you got some Capricorn Dubs!

A new company called Capricorn Cyclo-Works has produced the most complex wheels around. And they are awesome!

It seems they are currently only for motorcycles, but I’m betting it’s only time before these make their way to cars as well.
