Smirnoff Tea Partay and the Green Tea Partay Response!

1

Tea PartayYo. Terry G. (the G stands for Gangsta) hooked a brother up with a link to this hardcore rap video called Tea Partay. As soon as I filled my ear holes with the lyrical goodness I knew I had to share it with all my Bitches.

These videos were created as advertisements for Smirnoff, and after getting over 5 million views I’d have to say they did their job quite nicely! By the way, I’ll pay $10,000 to anyone who creates a Rap video for Woopra that goes viral like this! (100% serious!) :-)

Paul McCartney in ConcertYesterday Cali and Neal took us to see Paul McCartney, because they are so nice! And it was a fantastic show. Sir Paul did a great job, and his band was excellent too. It’s amazing that a guy in his late 60’s has the energy to get up there and rock for a few hours. Though I’m sure he was making a MINT to do so! hehehe

Anyway, what we have here are a bunch of photos captured yet again with my little pocket Panasonic DMC-LX3 camera. It performed fantastically given that we were in row 39 and the lighting was very difficult for any camera, much less one I smuggled in my a pocket.

R/C Car + Beer Bottles = Super Mario Brothers

0

RC Car Plays Super Mario Brothers ThemeEvery once in a while I come across a video that you just know took a lot of time to actually set up and produce, like all those Rube Goldeberg videos I post all the time. Well, here is another one along the same lines.

These guys in Japan took what looks to be a bunch of beer or wine bottles, and filled them with different amounts of fluid to create a different pitch when tapped. They then spaced them out properly, attached a couple of mallets to a radio controlled car, and voila! You drive the car between the bottles and get the theme song from Super Mario Brothers!

Amazing.

The Music of Microsoft Windows

This is an absolutely amazing piece of music which was created using only the sounds from Windows. It just doesn’t need any further introduction. Enjoy!

Free Marvin Gaye MP3 From Amazon.com

0

Folks, just until the end of the day tomorrow (Valentine’s Day… you DID remember, didn’t you?) Amazon is giving away Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get it On for free. Yep. I tried it myself, and it worked. So feel free to follow this banner link to get it.

But you really need to do it within the next 36 hours or the jig is up. It took me literally about 10 seconds to download the song and I’m listening to it right now.

This text link should also work for people with ad blocking turned on.

You Can Call Me Al Music Video and Lyrics

0

you-can-call-me-alYou know what? This is going to be a great week! You just gotta believe that. And to get you started here’s a great little song by Paul Simon called “You can call me Al”, and the even better video featuring Paul and Chevy Chase.

I remember the first time I saw this song, which essentially features Chevy stealing the show and lip syncing Paul’s entire song while Paul just has to sit there and watch. Cracked me up. It still puts a smile on my face, so here’s to hoping it does the same for you!

Andy Mckee Plays ‘Drifting’ on the Acoustic Guitar

Andy MckeeOk. This video is for Elie. For those of you who don’t know, Elie can play the hell out of a guitar. But next time Elie, I want to see you play this song (or something like it)! By the way, this video has been watched about 18,000,000 times to far!

Here is Andy Mckee playing his song “Drifting” on the acoustic guitar. Enjoy!

Playing the Flute on an iPhone with Ocarina

0

iPhone OcarinaWow! If you still doubt that the iPhone is a special device, just watch this video and it should clear things up for you right away. I mean, what other cell phone actually lets you play it like a flute? Nuff said!

You can read more about it here and they even have sheet music for you to use when you’re playing.

Mandisa Rocks On With “I’m Every Woman”

0

MandisaI can’t believe that I never shared this video clip before! I was telling someone about my cousin Mandisa, who you may remember from American Idol, and when I directed them to my blog to see her – she wasn’t there! Holy crap! What a colossal fail!

Anyway, Mandisa is a cousin (by marriage obviously), and she is one of the greatest singers alive if you ask me (and a whole lot of other people too). She made it onto American Idol, and came damn close to winning it. In fact, she was robbed! They gave it to that guy from Alabama who thought he was Elvis… pathetic!

Here is Mandisa doing what was arguably one of her most popular song renditions, I’m Every Woman. Enjoy!

19 by Paul Hardcastle

0

Soldier in Vietnam[The average U.S. serviceman in the Vietnam War was supposedly twenty-two years old, and not nineteen as is often believed, particularly given the popularity of a pop song called 19 by Paul Hardcastle.

I came across this song the other day, and it reminded me of just how cool it is all over again, so I thought I’d share it. The song that is… not the war.

Chuck Lewis - The SEO RapperAs I mentioned previously, I attended WordCamp San Francisco 2008 a week ago, and it’s taken me a few days to transfer the videos from tape into the computer. At this point I’m beginning to do the editing, so I’ll start putting out a string of videos (in no particular order). To get us started we’ve got Chuck Lewis, the SEO Rapper aka Poetic Prophet.

You’ll remember Chuck from my previous post about The Poetic Prophet. He’s very cool, he knows his shizzle about SEO, and he can rap. What more do you want? Ok. How about an a Capella world premier of the WordPress rap, and an interview with Matt Mullenweg!

Apple, That’s a Poor Way to Treat a Customer

0

iPod TouchThis is one of those times I’m gonna vent. So get ready…

Yesterday I was at Costco to get meat to make my world famous Souvlaki when I decided on a whim to purchase an Apple iPod Touch. This thing sells for $489, so right off the bat it had better be good.

Now, I don’t know jack about iPods or iPhones, but the signs in Costco all said something about coming with the latest greatest software functionality and they tell you all these things you can do with it… surf the web, watch movies, etc. So, I left the store happy and went home to give it a try.
