you-say-your-a-djThis is crazy! Thanks to Tom Barr once again for this fantastic find.

Here are a couple of guys in Australia who go around to clubs that are packed and act like they are the DJ coming to work. They were just trying to see how often this ploy would work. Check it out!

10 Year Old Girl Plays Carry On Wayward Son

10-year-old-musical-geniusI’m a big fan of Kansas and love the song Carry On Wayward Son. Obviously the song is a classic. It’s got some serious guitar work, drums, keyboard… well it’s got just about everything a good old rock band needs. Except, that is, a 10 year old girl!

Luckily I’ve got just the prescription for them.

I wish I knew something else about the little girl in the following video, but what I do know is that she pretty much plays every instrument in this song on a Yamaha keyboard all at the same time! At times while I’m watching it I seriously wonder if she is really playing it, but it’s far too good of an act not to be for real.

Knight Rider Theme Song - Beatbox Edition

Flute BeatboxSeriously, this has got to be the coolest flute player on the planet. I mean, this guy is actually beatboxing while he is playing the flute. I mean, he’s playing the Knight Rider theme song and at the very same time he’s… well, watch the video yourself and see what I’m talking about.

Now, I’d pay real money to get this guy together with the guy who played Smooth Criminal on the violin and Larry Wright the Famous Street Drummer. That would be one hell of a 3 man band!

This Guy is Way More Musical Than You

Reggie WattsReggie Watts is a musical genius. Seriously, watch what this guy does with a little digital recorder hooked up to an audio system. Is it just me or is there anyone else that thinks the phrase “he’s got more talent in his little finger than you do in your entire body” applies?

By the way, if you want to see more of Reggie, here is his MySpace page, and here are more of his videos on Vimeo or SuperDeluxe.

Garth Brooks’ The Thunder Rolls: Taco Bell Style

The Thunder Rolls - Taco Bell VersionFor all of you country music loving fans out there, here is a little parody of Garth Brooks’ Thunder Rolls video. It was done by a comedian named Remy, of course I have no idea what his last name is.

Anyway, despite the fact that he’s got only one name I still think you should let him entertain you for the next 4 minutes with this video about eating at Taco Bell.

Pat MonahanI happen to have been invited to attend a very special Cisco Systems awards banquet during which Pat Monahan (lead singer of the Grammy winning band Train) did a private concert for the roughly 400 people in attendance. Seeing how I was sitting 10 feet from Pat and I happened to have my little camera with me I filmed a couple of songs (hope you don’t mind my sharing this one Pat!).

Now, before you get to watch the video I have to share the funny story behind the video. Seal was originally scheduled to perform at this event, but one day before he called in sick. It just so happens that Pat was on his honeymoon one island over on Maui, and somehow the event organizers managed to talk him into taking a break from his new wife to entertain this group. Clearly the only reason for someone to do this would be because he’s just a nice guy and willing to help out in a crisis. Thanks Pat!

Entertain me!

Illegal DownloadsI keep wondering two things, why does the RIAA continue to persecute people, and more importantly why do people do stupid enough things to keep getting prosecuted?

That organization exists for the sole purpose of suing the pants off of people, but they can only do so when people leave plenty of evidence about their activity - namely hosting content on their computers and allowing others to download it. Most of the time it seems these foolish people aren’t even aware that what they are doing by running Kazaa, eMule, Gnutella, or some other file sharing application puts them at risk.

But why in the world would anyone share their music, movie or software collections via open, anonymous connections? Especially when there are other virtually risk-free alternatives? (By the way, know your rights if RIAA comes calling.)

The Humpty Dance

Humpty HumpDammit, this just needed to be shared!

It’s a little known fact, but I can sing every single word of The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground and sound just like Shock G. Hmmm… come to think of it, how do you know I’m not him? After all, he was always in disguise…

Live EarthIt’s official, Live Earth was the largest media event in human history with over 2 BILLION people watching across every continent on the planet. In case you are feeling caught up in the global warming debate I’d suggest that the argument is over. The only thing left to do now is help decide on what is going to be done, not if something is going to be done.

This little video sums up the spirit of the event nicely if you ask me… every little thing contributes - so each of us can make a global difference.

If you are interested in seeing how your personal habits impact the environment try the Lifestyle Calculator. I hate to admit it but I seem to have a horrible score. The range is from 105-900 with the average in the US being 325.

Personally I’m at a despicable 608 - I’m guessing it has to do with all of my air travel. I guess I need to pay closer attention to the list of things you can do to fight global warming. (Here is another big list.)
