Dalí was born on May 11, 1904, in Figueres, Spain close to the French border. In 1916, Dali discovered modern painting on a summer vacation to Cadaques with the family of Ramon Pichot, a local artist who made regular trips to Paris. The next year, Dali’s father organized an exhibition of his charcoal drawings in their family home. He had his first public exhibition at the Municipal Theater in Figueres in 1919.

Eiffel Tower PanoramaWow, Panoramas.dk is one of the greatest sites I’ve ever come across. It features a number of three dimensional panoramas which allow you to virtually look around a given space. This is a technology that can only flourish on the Web since you cannot move around inside a static photograph.

There are virtual reality panoramas of the Eiffel Tower, Carnival in Rio, a Camel Carts in Bikaner India, a human Zoo, an ariel view of Sydney Australia and even the Apollo Moon Landings.

Rendezvous – Paris, a Ferrari and a Girl.

The Route Through ParisThis is truly a fantastic video. Set in 1976 Paris, this has to be one of the most irresponsible, flagrant and illegal events in car driving history… and also absolutely one of the coolest!

The driver recklessly speeds around Paris one early morning for almost 9 minutes prompting Ralph Martin, of GQ Magazine, to say

“The car runs sixteen red lights, crosses the median to avoid a bus, nearly plows into a few pedestrians and more than a few pigeons, and drives around a garbage truck on the sidewalk before pulling up in front of Sacre Coeur, with its picture-perfect view of Paris spread out at sunrise. Then, in a sentimental touch, the driver gets out to meet his lady, his rendezvous.”
