R/C Car + Beer Bottles = Super Mario Brothers

0

RC Car Plays Super Mario Brothers ThemeEvery once in a while I come across a video that you just know took a lot of time to actually set up and produce, like all those Rube Goldeberg videos I post all the time. Well, here is another one along the same lines.

These guys in Japan took what looks to be a bunch of beer or wine bottles, and filled them with different amounts of fluid to create a different pitch when tapped. They then spaced them out properly, attached a couple of mallets to a radio controlled car, and voila! You drive the car between the bottles and get the theme song from Super Mario Brothers!

Amazing.

The Awesome Flaming Rube Goldberg Machine

0

FlamesI love flames! And I love overly complex machinery! So imagine my joy when I came across this overly complicated flame-powered Rube Goldberg machine!

It reminds me of a movie line from Tommy Boy:

“I swear I’ve seen a lot of stuff in my life. But that… was… awesome!”

The Most Complex Bowl of Ramen Noodles Ever

0

Ramen Noodle Rube Goldberg MachineI know that like 10 billion people eat Ramen noodles every day, but I guarantee no one takes the route of preparing them that these folks took on this Japanese game show.

It was apparently a Rube Goldberg competition and they used everything from bowling balls to marbles and included both flames and water. This machine goes on for about 5 minutes and manages to do nothing more than pour some hot water over a package of noodles.

Awesome.

Domino Day 2006

0

4 Million DominosI really like Dominos. And I like Rube Goldberg devices. In fact, I’ve showcased quite a few. But this one has got to take the cake!

Domino Day is a world record attempt for the highest number of falling domino stones, organized each year by Robin Paul Weijers, also known as Mr. Domino.

A new world record was set on 17 November on Domino Day 2006. 4,079,381 stones were toppled out of the 4,400,000 that were set up. Four builders’ challenges were set in which pairs of builders were chosen to complete vital parts of the set-up while the dominoes were already toppling. The first three builders’ challenges failed so the success of the last challenge was crucial to setting the world record.

Guiness’ Incredible Dominos-Style Commercial

0

Guinness Tipping PointGuinness beer has an ingenious new advertisement that could previously only been seen by those who solved the puzzles on the Guinness website at GuinnessTipping.com!

Well, I suppose some Genius figured out the riddle and then graciously bestowed the location of the new videos on the rest of us. So, grab a beer, kick back, and enjoy.

Amazing Rube Goldberg Machine and Game!

0

Rube Goldberg MachineThis video is as cool, or possibly even better, than my previous post on Incredible Japanese Kinetic Machines.

In this video, the creators of this Rube Goldberg machine (a machine that performs a simple task in a complex way) have woven the kinetic reactions all over an entire house!

As it weaves it’s way throughout I can’t help to wonder if someone’s mom is about to come home and freak out at what the kids did when the parents were out of town or something (like with the 60 foot slip-n-slide).

Incredible Japanese Kinetic Machines

This is the highest rated video I’ve ever seen. It has been viewed 3 million times and has maintained a perfect 5 star rating from over 20,000 people! Just watch it and you’ll see why.

Be warned, the video is 13 minutes long, and once you start watching its impossible to stop! I’m not kidding, there is some amazing engineering at work here, and every time you think they can’t possibly come up with something new, they outdo themselves!

Way Too Much Time On Their Hands

Office DominosWhoever set up this office domino-like demonstration was definitely milking the payroll for all it’s worth. Still, it’s pretty darn cool.
