The John P. and Frederick V. Show – SEO Interview Galore!

Hey folks, a couple of weeks ago the very eminent, most gracious, and quite handsome (the invoice is in the mail) Frederick Van Johnson and I sat down at opposite ends of the Internet table for a cozy discussion geared towards photographers.

We talked about life, love, Woopra and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for photographers. I will point out that much of the discussion was applicable for just about any website you have although the intention was to answer specific questions that appeal to the needs of those of us who have a thing for lenses. Stephan Spencer at WordCampSEO consultant Stephan Spencer gave a fantastic lecture at WordCamp in San Francisco on Search Engine Optimization and, more specifically, the mistakes most bloggers make. (Maybe if I’m lucky Stephan will help me with OMB and Woopra!)

As founder of NetConcepts, a top Search Engine Marketing firm, Stephan is one of the leading experts in the field and he managed to pack more tips into this 30 minute segment than I could have imagined.

Chuck Lewis – The SEO Rapper at WordCamp SanFrancisco

Chuck Lewis - The SEO RapperAs I mentioned previously, I attended WordCamp San Francisco 2008 a week ago, and it’s taken me a few days to transfer the videos from tape into the computer. At this point I’m beginning to do the editing, so I’ll start putting out a string of videos (in no particular order). To get us started we’ve got Chuck Lewis, the SEO Rapper aka Poetic Prophet.

You’ll remember Chuck from my previous post about The Poetic Prophet. He’s very cool, he knows his shizzle about SEO, and he can rap. What more do you want? Ok. How about an a Capella world premier of the WordPress rap, and an interview with Matt Mullenweg!

WordCamp Dallas 2008: Chris Smith on SEO for Bloggers

Chris SmithNext in the lineup of WordCamp Dallas speakers is Chris Smith, Lead GravityStream Strategist at Netconcepts, who lectured on Search Engine Optimization for Bloggers.

Chris has five patents pending for his work on local search and presentation technologies, and his specialization centers around natural search optimization.

Buy Cheap Viagra And SEO

ViagraI bet that headline got everyone’s attention! No, I’m not starting up an illicit internet drug trade, but I am testing out a search engine theory. (By the way, if you want to help test this theory please link to this article.)

Aaron Wall proposed the question, “How Easily do Authoritative Sites Rank for New Keywords?” over on SEOBook.com, and he pointed out that Matt Cutts managed to rank pretty high by just using the words Buy Cheap Viagra in one post. His postulate is that the relative authority of Matt’s site (a Google PR7 rank) drove his rankings towards the top of the Google results for a search for the terms “buy cheap viagra”.

Well, I figured I’d throw a little weight in the ring and help test this theory. If Aaron’s postulate is correct, I would think that this article should eventually even outrank Matt’s post given that OMB has a Google PR8. Plus I have noticed what seems to be this effect quite often. After I write an article it seems to appear high for searches with the key words.
