Two years ago I paid $2,000 for the predecessor to the Sharp 42″ HDTV that Dell currently has on sale for $799. If you’ve been waiting for a good deal to purchase a new TV for yourself, this is the best deal you’re going to find this season on a kick ass TV.
The Sharp 42″ AQUOS Model: LC42SB45U television features:
This TV is currently $1,000 on Amazon, and $1,099 at Best Buy.
So, head on over to Dell and pick one up now before they are all gone. Hey Pop! This means you!
EDIT: Just discovered that you can also get it from Costco Online for the same price, but a little more shipping. Might be worth it to have the abiltiy to return it to a local Costco if you’re a member. Plus for Executive members you’d get your 2% back at the end of the year…

While shopping at my local Costco today I happened to come across a PS3 sitting in the case with the cameras, iPods and other electronic goodies. At first I was a little taken aback, but I gathered my senses enough to ask a nearby employee if that was an actual PS3 for sale?
Well, as you can guess by the title of this post, it was, and I bought it. Apparantly it had just been put out a little earlier, and when I got home and opened it I see that it seems to have been previously opened, though its in perfect condition.
Now, I honestly have no use for a game console as I just don’t play them. But I find two things attractive about the PS3. First, it’s a cheap Blue-Ray disc player. Secondly, there is supposed to be a blazingly fast Folding@Home client which you can download and run on the machine when you’re not using it for something else.

The Man received the following question from Steven:
I just purchased a 37″ Sharp Aquos. Is there somewhere on the Internet that I can find the best settings for picture/voice quality — or do I just have to go through it all via trial and error?
Well, Steve. First of all congrats on your new Aquos. I absolutely love my 42″ version and I think you’re going to love yours. Now, to answer your question, there is some personal preference involved with tweaking your audio and video settings, but there are a number of tools to help you with the project.

My living room wasn’t bringing the kind of audio visual pleasure it once did, so we had to take the step up to a new HD TV. The problem was, which one to get?
The absolute dimensions for our built in cabinetry dictated that we could go no larger than a 40-42″ flat panel TV, depending on the brand. After doing quite a bit of comparative analysis we finally decided on the Sharp 42″ Aquos LCD (LC-42D62U), which we got at Best Buy.
