Here is an amazing clip of a small plane crash landing in California when one of it’s landing gears refused to function properly. Funny thing is, there wasn’t really any “crash” in the landing.
What makes this especially interesting is that someone apparently got another plane up in the air in time to film what was going on, and they did a really good job of capturing the entire event.
POINT MUGU, California
Monday Jul 30, 2007
A twin-engine turboprop aircraft with its left main landing gear stuck in the up position skidded to a safe landing at a Navy air station Monday.Twelve people were aboard. The civilian Grumman G-159 was on a shuttle flight from the military’s San Nicolas Island to Point Mugu.
The Phoenix Air plane carrying nine passengers and three flight crew members circled for about an hour to burn off excess fuel.
The airplane came in with its left engine feathered — the propeller slowly turning — and it set down gently before settling onto its left wing, then skidded to its left off the runway and onto an unpaved area.
Everyone aboard jumped out of the aircraft as fire trucks sprayed the craft.
There was no fire and the plane appeared to be repairable.San Nicolas is a Navy-owned island off Southern California. The plane is leased to shuttle military personnel and civilian workers between the mainland and the island.
Point Mugu Naval Air Station is part of the Navy base in Ventura County, northwest of Los Angeles.
Ok. I saw like 5 seconds of this this clip on Cali and Neal’s GeekBrief.TV and then did a YouTube search to find the original video.
From the description:
I built the ball machine because I thought my dog Jerry, might like it and that it would be something fun for me to build. So after two years of on and off work, with many safety features such as IR proximity sensors to protect Jerry and my son from the machine, I finally complete.
Far from being a replacement for me, I was always right there with him enjoying his fun. And with all the troubles that I went through to build the ball machine, I still end up throwing more balls than that the machine could count! According to the computer, he played with the machine by himself only 3 times in his life.
I recently put this video on YouTube to keep alive my earlier memories of him and (hopefully) provide some “humorous distractions” for anyone that might drop by.

I don’t know why some of you were so surprised by my recent post of 20 Old Skool rap videos! All I can think of is that you must not have caught my own personal rendition of Snoop Dogg’s Sensual Seduction.
This video is completely crappy because I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to exporet it from JibJab, but if you want to star in your own video you can head on over there.

Ok folks. I’m not really into skateboarding, and this video starts out a little slow, but if you’ll stick with it, after about one minute I think you’ll find it’s mesmerizing.
I’m not exactly sure how they did it, but I’m guessing that these guys must have painted their skateboards entirely pink or bright green or something like that, then had the video editing software delete that information.

Let’s get this out of the way. The British can’t cook! Seriously, I’ve never had a great meal in the UK, but that doesn’t really matter because I still love you wacky Brits!
Don’t get me wrong, just because they can’t cook doesn’t mean they don’t have talent! And the TV show, Brittan’s Got Talent proves my point. First we had the amazing Paul Potts, then there was the 6 year old Connie, and now for your viewing pleasure, Scala performs Palladio by Karl Jenkins.

Ok seriously. Who here doesn’t want to build their own hovercraft? Thank you, I rest my case.
Hovercrafts are totally cool. You can build a small one with a leaf blower for less than $50, or you can buy a big kit and spend a few grand. Of course, you can also opt for a commercial version that is fully manufactured “to marine leisure standards“, but however they chose to do it, here are a bunch of folks who are living the dream.

This is crazy! Thanks to Tom Barr once again for this fantastic find.
Here are a couple of guys in Australia who go around to clubs that are packed and act like they are the DJ coming to work. They were just trying to see how often this ploy would work. Check it out!

This video called “Welcome to North Korea” by Peter Tetteroo and Raymond Feddema was the winner of the 2001 International Emmy award for Best Documentary and is a perfect follow up to my previous post, Kim Jong Il Should Die.
Things you’ll learn from this video:

Kim Jong Il, the North Korean DICtator, should die - or at the very least be overthrown. Why do I say this? Because no one in North Korea is allowed to. Oh, and because I think that he, and the entire regime that props him up, is a fascist pig on the same scale as Hitler. Hell, there are 200,000 political prisoners, and you can be jailed just for saying “I’m not so sure I like our dear leader.”
Here is the evidence. The following series of 5 videos comprise a CNN report called “North Korea Undercover in the Secret State“. Warning: this is NOT for children, and proves what Frederick Douglass said 150 years ago:
“Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them.”
The series includes a number of hidden camera videos including actual public executions for helping people escape from North Korea, and depictions of the results of famine. Allowing Kim Jong Il and his criminal government to stay in power is the equivalent of allowing the mafia to own and control an entire country.

Ok. This was e-mailed to me, and when I first saw the title I almost didn’t watch it. I thought it was going to be some sort of gimmicky video featuring exploited elephants or something.
But I went ahead and watched it. Wow! I’m simply stunned! I’m not going to spoil it for you guys, but you aren’t going to believe what you see…

Folks, our friend Johny has uploaded a Woopra overview video which is so comprehensive it even taught me a couple of things about how the application works!
If you’re using Woopra currently, I recommend that you spend 10 minutes with the video and pick up at least a few new tricks. If not, you can see what all the buzz is about, and what you’ll soon be able to get access to.
