It’s been exactly 63 years, to the minute, since the first atomic explosion ushered mankind into the Atomic age. The Manhattan Project, as it was called, would eventually reign down the most terrible hell on earth, but may also have saved the entire planet from a much worse fate.
Here is an incredible one hour educational video, called The Moment in Time: The Manhattan Project, created by the University of California which documents the history that led to the development of the bomb.
By the way, here is a little description of that photo I’ve attached:
At the time this photo was made, smoke billowed 20,000 feet above Hiroshima while smoke from the burst of the first atomic bomb had spread over 10,000 feet on the target at the base of the rising column.

Now days, when I think of India I think of a hot dry climate, a billion people, call centers and engineers. But this is a country with a long, rich history that predates most Western civilizations.
Here is an interesting video which demonstrates many of the inventions from ancient India including things such as the number 0, cotton, art, and more. In fact, about 37 minutes into the video, they discuss the manufacture of Wootz - or Damascus - steel, used for making the finest swords ever created.

The USMC Silent Drill Platoon travels all over the US and the world putting on demonstrations of coordinated perfection the equivalent of the Navy’s Blue Angels.
Pay particular attention towards the end of the video when it’s time for the rifle inspections…

Imagine a weapon that can fire 16,000 rounds per second, that’s nearly 1 Million rounds per minute! At this rate an enemy target basically has a wall of supersonic lead coming right at it, and the effect is simply devastating.

Say hello to the newest weapon in the US Military’s arsenal. The good news? It’s non-lethal! The bad news? If you get hit by it you’ll wish you were dead until it stops.
The new Active Denial System which produces what experimenters call the “Goodbye effect,” or “prompt and highly motivated escape behavior.” In human tests, most subjects reached their pain threshold within 3 seconds, and none of the subjects could endure more than 5 seconds.
