The author of this video calls the Hubble Ultra Deep Field photo the “single most important picture ever taken by humanity.” And if you really think about it, I guess he’s right.
After watching this video I don’t see how anyone could believe that our planet is the only one supporting a sensient civilization.
Well, with the exception of those people who don’t believe we’ve even built the Hubble or gone to space… I guess if you think the whole thing is a hoax then you can keep on believing the Earth is flat. :-)
You want me to prove to you the Christian god doesn’t exists? Seriously? Okay, I’m happy to try. Tell me how you would prove that Zeus doesn’t exist, and I’ll do my best to use the same methodology.
Also, please be so kind as to define by what attributes we should define the Christan god, so we can recognize his existence or lack thereof. Tell us how we would recognize “him” as different from all other gods, etc.
Before I endeavor to fulfil your request, please answer this as well: hypothetically, IF one could reasonably prove in a way that addressed every reasonable criteria you put forth, that “God” as described in the Old and New Testaments did not exist – would you stop believing in ‘him”?
Thank you.
hmmm I have seen a million dollar in cash and a million Euro in cash, I know it exists. (sad enough it was not mine).
What if out planet is just a minor project of your “god”?? Anyway, for me it’s hard to believe in a 2000 year old story which was written down some 500 years later.
A famous experiment at german Universities is: The Professor shows a student a very simple picture who is supposed to describe that to another student who does the same to the next. This goes on for 10 students. Tha last has to draw the picture. Result: is has abolutely NOTHING to to with the original the Pro showed to the first student.
Considering that and the mouth to mouth forwarding some hundred years and several translations of the famous religious stories, I doubt that it has anything to do with the original guy called Jesus some 2000 years ago.
… or the people on the “flat” earth were just smarter than on our round one today …
cheers

Its pointless trying to reason with people like you. One day you will die, alone and with the same unanswered questions you came into this world with. And the comparison between a million dollars and god is the worst comparison cliche known to man. God obviously didn’t give you the gift of insight, or even spreading his word for that matter. Since when did this video become a forum for debate on religious babble. cant you guys just go away???
On the comment about the zero evidence that GOD does not exist, have you ever seen a million dollars? But does it exist? Just because you cant see something does not mean it does not exist.I came to this and some other web sites to look at hubble photos of deep space. Before hubble i do not think we knew that some of these things existed.I think all one has to do is look through the hubble telescope and see what it is really telling us.Science actually proves the existence of GOD.And on the faith comment,it takes more faith to be atheist, just look at one must try to understand you don’t have the answers so you get mad at us. And to be honest to you, It is philosophically impossible to be an atheist. To be an atheist you must know absolutely there is no GOD.But to have infinite knowledge you would have to be GOD yourself. So you cant be GOD and an atheist at the same time. (From Fast Facts on False Teaching) .So look up Psalm 14:1and Romans1:18-23,25.And also i would recommend the movie (EXPELLED). .ALSO READ THE BOOK ..CASE FOR CHRIST.And ..PS, PROVE TO ME THAT GOD DOES NOT EXIST. DALE B.
It seems as though the classical christian follower is becomming more and more desperate to spread the “word” and to stop the progression of science. Its evident that in every scientific breakthrough there is a religious Icon one step behind claiming that its the work of the antichrist, why? Is their faith so shallow that something as “theoretical” as science (as you claim) enough to shake thier whole belief system… Is it me or are there others that see science is pulling ahead and leaving christians thumbing through their book translating text to fit their particular situation to find answers? The age old stories about a man born of a virgin living in a village who performed miracles throughout his life will not suffice anymore, (soon hollywood is going to pick up where “God” left off…) it needs reform, a few more chapters to fill in the gaps. People are becomming smarter and miracles less descernible… As in medicine, anything impure can not exist and will eventually die off. so goes christianity, if “God” does not interject and show itself then soon there will be no need for the idea anymore and will be put up on the value shelf.. Everything else aside, it is a great eye opening video…
PS: Where is Einstein when you need him?
I don’t mind being more direct than John Doe.
There is absolutely zero evidence that God exists. But no matter… every Christian minister on the planet will tell you it takes “faith” to make it to heaven. So the fact that neither you, nor any other human alive, can present a shred of evidence of the existence of God matters not, you continue to cling to your “theory”.
For you to claim that scientific theories have no validity means that you are questioning the entire established scientific method. The same method that overcame the religious certainties that the Earth is flat, and that the sun and everything else revolves around us.
And that is just plain stupid. Indeed, the argument against “theory” has only ever held up until it is converted to fact. And that has happened time and time again, for century after century – each time leaving people looking like complete morons.
In my estimation, you have created the classic scientific blunder. You started with an answer (God created the heavens and the earth) and then worked backwards to explain your belief. So, even though this comment was clearly designed as a SPAMMY advertisement to get people to go to your ultra-religious site, I left it here simply to illustrate just how much can go wrong with malfunctioning scientific methodology.

Are you a scientist or a preacher? How can somebody discredit science so soon in its existence. All science’s are based on “theory” and like every other theory (ie: gods creation) they all lack credibility, if you completed elementary science classes you know that (not saying that you didn’t). First of all I dont believe that this video is trying to promote acceptance to modern science theory and throw “gods creation” to the wind, just to consider alternative explanitions to unanswered questions and why we are here. TBBT is just a general “idea” of how the universe was formed (and is still forming) nobody to this date has come up with a better idea so why not let it be for now. As science and technology progresses I think many unanswered questions will be resolved and will put alot of people’s minds at ease or for some in complete choas.
“Look into what you believe in. Investigate it thoroughly and then ask yourself if it is credible. If you are more convinced by bias than evidence than that is your choice. Have a look at Creation”
……dont be so hypocritical…..
Im not suggesting that there is not a deity, and not saying there is either, im sure that whatever “it” is, is a damn good scientist. It’s a good enough explanition for those who choose to believe it I guess. It seems as though you are against CERN, and the particle accelerator. Now this is a very simple idea but do you think that 10 billion dollars, decades of work and thousands of scientist know something that we dont?? Feedback is a good thing “Ian of oz” but take your own advice and don’t be a slave of bias.
I watched the video. I though it was well presented and in particular liked the zooming in the the HUDF photo. I believed it shows the galaxies to be fully formed at the known ‘edge’ of the universe. If you believe in the standard ‘big bang’ model then you would be having a problem with that. Like how could those galaxies have formed so soon after the big bang.
you should realise that you have been conned. The big bang never happened. Few people seem to question it these days however due to a successful brainwashing effort of the media and the prevailing bias. You can break free if you can be bothered to examine how the current observations do not fit the standard model.
Absolutely no dark matter or dark energy has been observed anywhere in the universe yet it is said to make up 96 pecent of the universe. Let us reason together for a bit and think about this. The dark matter and dark energy is required to verify a theory to explain the formation of galaxies and stars. If the evidence is not there and cannot be found then it surely means that the theory lacks credibility? The same can be said for anti-matter. The standard model theory says when the universe was formed, equal amounts of anti-matter and matter were formed. There should be whole galaxies of anti -matter out there. None has been observed to date. This should suggest that the theory needs to be questioned unless one is blind to reason. Dont be suprised when these experiments fail to substantiate dark enegy , dark matter and anti-matter. They are pure science fiction as is the standard model aka ‘the big bang’.
A ratio of 50% antimatter to 50% matter predicted by the big bang is not observed.
The CMBR temperature was originally predicted in 1961 to be 20K had to be adjusted to fit the observation of 2.7K.
The big bang’s 4 dimensional hyperspherical universe model is undermined by the observed quantization of galactic redshifts, anistropy of the CMBR and the patterns in large-scale galaxy survey.
A lack of observed ‘density fluctuations’ need to formed stars.
A lack of many black holes from exploded type 3 stars that big bang predicts should be there to explain the existance of the heavier elements.
Bang bang does not predict the formation of stars clusters.
The observed galaxy walls and clusters are not predicted by a big bang model.
The proto star’s gas swirl model for the formation of a solar system will result in the result in a star spinning faster than the planets however 98% on the momentum is observed to be in the planets.
The formation of planets though ‘aggregation’ using a particle’sticking’ mechanism will not work. Obseved ‘planetesimals’ are fused solid meteoric chunks, not the predicted dust aggregations. The solar wind blows away the dust aggregations before gravitic formation can take place.
The moon above has no satisfactory explanation for it’s formation.
Dark matter and dark energy are unobserved and will remain so long after CERN’s Large Hadron Collider produces its results.
Heavier elements assembling themselves into reproducing life some time after the big bang is something no one can explain by tests in the experimental or theoretical realms.
Look into what you believe in. Investigate it thoroughly and then ask yourself if it is credible. If you are more convinced by bias than evidence than that is your choice. Have a look at Creation
There are more than a few of us with scientific inclination who believe Jesus is both Creator of our world and Saviour. We are both brothers in Adam you and I, and I sincerely beg that you will see the obvious sooner than later.
