Undercover Police Kill Innocent Homeowner
Last Saturday Police in Jacksonville, Florida were working under cover, selling drugs and busting users. When they went over to 81 year old Issac Singletary’s front yard and started up he tried to run them off his property, apparantly threatening them with his .38 revolver.
Problem is, rather than the police getting the hell off his property, they pulled their weapons and killed him.
Witnesses and some police accounts indicate Singletary thought the officers were actual drug dealers and that he was trying to remove them from his property with the assistance of a .38 caliber handgun.
Some of Singletary’s gunshots hit a tree in the yard, according to police, but none of the officers were hit.
Police said Singletary was shot at least once before going to his backyard, where police shot him again after ordering him to drop his weapon.
Singletary, whom witnesses initially misidentified as Isaac Evans, is a man people in the neighborhood off Philips Highway know simply as “Pops.” He stayed outside most days, sitting in a lawn chair or, if it rained, passing the time inside his dark blue Ford F-150 that remained parked in the driveway Sunday.
Singletary had a reputation in the neighborhood for chasing drug dealers off his lawn, family and neighbors said.
“I never would have thought he would have gotten shot by a police officer,” said niece Sheree Bea. “I thought if he ever got shot it would have been in a confrontation with a drug dealer.”
Family members said Singletary was a retired maintenance man from Winter Park who moved to Jacksonville in the 1980s to take care of his ailing mother and sister. On Feb. 15, he would have turned 81.
Frankly I find it unbelievable that these officers killed an 81 year old man on his own damn yard, when they know they were actually selling drugs on his property! In fact, they had to follow him into his backyard to actually do the murder!
If some old guy threatens you for selling drugs on his lawn – get the hell out of there! If you’re worried about it, call in some uniformed officers to calm the situation down. And if he starts shooting at you, run and hide! He’s obviously only dangerous to drug dealers, which means he’s on the same side of the law as you are!
I hope the city, and the officers, get the hell sued out of them. Additionally, whoever was in charge should lose their job.

I CAN NOT believe this!!!!!!!!! This is proof that these “undercover” police officers are SCRUMM!!!!!! they think because of a badge that they are capable of doin the same schisty a** ish that the people they are trying to arrest are doin. They can kill an innocent elderly man and its OK!!!!!!!!!! Where does it say that MURDERING is ok only if you have a badge. YOU men that murdered this man in COLD BLOOD should root in jail!!!!! You are nothing but ish on my shoes……………my personal opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do ya wanna bet that the slime ball who shot him doesn’t spend a day in jail and the community will pay all the expenses ,including any lawsuits, lawyers/ prosecuters– but like most civilized communities , the taxpayers will pick up the tab and the sleeze balls will walk around with heads up and keep collecting their checks — shame on you killers– you can bet if it would have been the other way around , the old man would have been hung —
Thats a shame. It’s so many crooked cops in this world and their own superiors will make up the wildest story just to cover them. If they were really trying to do their due diligence and stop the war on drugs they would have more evidence that Mr. Singletary was selling drugs. Even his own neighbors said he was chasing out the dealers. With that being said the man was only 80 and I dont even know him but more then likely he was probably a African-American and with that as their reason to kill him. It happens all over America but law enforcement still insist their doing their job, please. I know drug dealers, crack-cocaine dealers and they haven’t caught none of them but instead murder innocent people who really want to protect their neighborhood. I still cant get over the fact they murdered him in his backyard yet, the report says he was shot before he could even get to the backyard. Unless he was Arnold Schwarzenegger and had his health I highly doubt this old man was really putting up that much of a fight. The dept. should be sued if not already and reparations to his family should be given and to all the other lives these so-called police men have ruined.
thank god i dont live in america. im appalled that police officers have the right to sell drugs and then arrest the buyers. nevermind shooting pensioners to death. well thats what happens when you let a country full of idiots have guns. if that man never had a gun it wouldn’t of provoked the trigger happy corrupt pigs
So let me get this straight, the cops were selling drugs on his lawn, he came out and told them to get off of his lawn, but instead of getting off his lawn they shot him. Now obviously he has done this numerous times with real drug dealers, without getting shot. So here is my question, why is it, that the cops ended up being more dangerous than the real drug dealers?
Singletary wasn’t aware they were undercover police; obviously, they were pretending to be drug dealers. You can’t blame the old man for threatening them with a .38 caliber if he was only trying to get rid of them. “get off my lawn” means GET OFF MY LAWN. He had a right to shoot them, but they should have dealt with the situation more professionally. They were police officers, and the least they could’ve done was show him their badges or something but NOT kill the man.
