This was the last one hour session, entitled Developer Duke-out, from the WordCamp 2007 conference conducted by Matt Mullenweg and featuring Mark Jaquith, Donncha O Caoimh, Michael Adams and Andy Skelton.
The Developer Duke-out occurred on Sunday July 22, 2007 from 4:30-5:30pm in San Francisco, CA at the Swedish American Hall and it gave everyone the chance to get to know a little more about some of the people behind WordPress as well as have the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions.
The guys talk about some of their favorite plugins, the current and future state of WordPress, and a number of other interesting and at time comical issues.
A MUCH higher quality version of this video is available on Blip.TV and eventually there will be Quicktime versions as well as flash versions available here (that seem to work better for most people). For now I’ve managed to get it uploaded to Google Video (see below) although their quality is crap.
Also, please feel free to grab the code and embed any of the WordCamp videos in your own sites. We filmed these lectures so that the millions of WordPress users who were NOT able to attend WordCamp would be able to hear the messages.
One last thing. To everyone that works on the development team of WordPress, I want to personally thank you. I had been hand coding every page of HTML since the dawn of the Web and WordPress is the first platform I found which I felt was worthy of using. My hats off to you fellows!
That’s cool that you got to see them. I’m definitely going to take a look at the video later on when I have some time to watch it. Did you have any particular points of the talk that you found interesting or liked more than the rest?
