Have a great weekend!
I like the “mini-earth” and it does not make me feel bad at all. It makes me think. I live in a community in the Philippines, and there are only locals around, “poor” people, with no bank-account computer and so on. Most of them have no money for sending their kids to a proper school. But all of them are smiling most of the time.
I can help my mini-world here, when I support them with medicine or Iodine and band-aids, when the Kids have rashes from playing. Sometimes I take them to town if I have space on my bike. The kids coming to my little-little one to play with her.
I always get invited for their parties and fiestas (and the Philippines are a true Party-country). I try to help my “mini-world” around me, and they give back one of they biggest gifts on earth: smiles and friendship.

The Miniature Earth clip was interesting but it made me think about what feeling they want to leave you with, I got a “feel guilty, you prosperous Westerner” vibe. Could a presentation ever point the finger at the corrupt dictator or system rather than lashing out at the success of a system that wipes out poverty, disease, and even covers for its citizens foolishness?
I used to work for a Mongolion BBQ and people often put 2x-3x as much food as they could actually eat. We threw so much tasty high quality food away it made me sick :(
We faced tons of potential legal issues if we did feed the homeless too.. When I asked, I was just a teenager and I remember how terrible it felt to realize that the system has gotten so technical we can’t even feed the poor and homeless without worrying about litigation :(
I could go for more time for those spammers.
It’s sad when old laws stay in effect and cause us to question the fairness of the law.
I can’t wait to have a battery that awesome! Although even though they say that it’s not nuclear and totally safe, I would still be rather hesitant to be one of the early adopters. Technology that new scares me a little bit. Especially when it’s sitting in my lap.
I’ve never really understood municipal laws prohibiting the feeding of the homeless. Is it to protect the homeless or what?
ok, if it’s illegal to feed masses in one area as such in this article said the guy was “violating the city ordinance that bans mass feeding in one area”… wouldn’t that make the restaurants in that city in violation?
Hah I used the above image on a post a while back about the homeless and boy did I get lambasted for even suggesting that the homeless can’t always help themselves :)
