This is so completely off the hook geeky that it is wickedly cool… So, if anyone is looking for an excuse to get me a present, here is the number one idea. A shirt with animated bars that actually detect WiFi signals.
Better yet, it’s available for only $30 at ThinkGeek.com.
Product Features
- Glowing animated shirt dynamically displays the current wi-fi signal strength.
- Shows signal strength for 802.11b or 802.11g
- Black 100% Cotton T-Shirt
- Animated Decal is Removable (with hook and loop fasteners) for Easy Washing
- Battery Pack is Concealed in a Small Pocket Sewn Inside the Shirt
- Runs for hours off three AAA Batteries (not included)
Washing Instructions
- Carefully peel animated decal from front of T-Shirt
- Unplug ribbon connector behind decal and remove decal
- Unplug battery pack and remove it
- You can leave the ribbon cable inside the shirt
- Machine wash gentle cycle on cold
- Hang to dry
And here is a video showing the shirt in action. I know it’s boring at first, so just skip towards the end to see it in action.
Actually its a very cool concept i think. Are there chances to get bluetooth shirts like this?
That is too cool. I love it. Im getting one for myself for sure.
Oh my gosh, my gf is going to kill me if I buy that!
LMAO! That’s too funny! :D
That is a pretty cool idea, I would add security to the display, makes wardriving a lot easier :)
Kim:)
It’s one of those, “why didn’I think of that” gizmos. Kinda like the smilely T-shirt.
But then the liability issues of this one pop to mind. “Man killed while crossing NY street in search of Signal”
I love it – that’s so completely bad a*s!! I would totally get that for you if I had the cash! Mean ol’ Gooboo making me broke! Grrr!
That’ll be really cool, though, when they figure out how to upgrade that shirt, though, and make the decal softer. And maybe make it run off a watch battery or two…then it’ll be totally ROCKIN’! :)
Damn, this is so cool but it is also too geeky for me :)
S.
That’s so creepy, I _just_ saw that on ThinkGeek!
I could never get it because I’d waste hours wandering around my house checking the strength of my wireless network.
