Ok. This might not be all that super secret, but I guarantee its going to pass a lot of people by this evening…
OH! Before I get started here, I hope that everyone is following Elie Khoury on Twitter and go and show him the LOVE! For God’s sake, he and Jad Younan (who we can’t get to use Twitter or anything else) have been working for like 48 hours straight to make this a reality for the rest of us!
Now, I’m happy to announce that the long awaited Woopra desktop client version 1.3 is complete, and about to be pushed out to all Woopra users. But before that happens, we need you to go over the final build one… last… time.
So, we’re going to use my little blog here as our super secret gathering ground for the Woopra Special Forces Testing Team tonight!
Please grab one or more of the appropriate links below and start testing everything out. Leave comments below for anything you find that appears to be broken or otherwise non-functional. If you come up with a feature request we’ll take note of it, but that will have to wait till a later version. We just want to make sure that 1.3 isn’t breaking anything.
If you want to test it but you don’t have an approved site… well, I’m feeling generous tonight! Send me a tweet to @johnpoz with the URL you need approved AFTER you set up your account on Woopra.com and I’ll manually approve it.
So, here you go my precious peeps! The whole Woopra team is standing by for the next couple of hours manning the comments on this post, so you’ve got direct access to power!
ONE LAST LITTLE DETAIL!!! If you download and install one of these builds tonight, it’s possible that the next time we push out an update you might have to do that one manually too. The auto-upgrade might not work on this one for a variety of technical reasons…. You’ve been warned. :-)
EDIT:
By the way, a few things you may want to take a look at:
- The new chat functionality is RADICALLY improved. Multi-chat sessions, beautiful interface, impossible to miss…
- Look at your Analytics! MUCH more information than before! Just a thing of beauty.
- The new Light colored theme! Click on the little down arrow on the tab at the top to change your theme color. I LOVE “Woopra Light”!
Congratulations on your latest milestone with Woopra. May version 1.3 be successful and its future incarnations even more so.
Hey Scott,
You’ve probably already figured this out by now, but we did have a minor bug fix release (1.3.1) almost immediately after we pushed this final release out. I think it had 2 lines of code changed. :-)
The releases should auto-update once you have the final 1.3 installed, but as I warned previously those of us who had the 1.3 RC6 had to manually update it.
Cheers! (And hope all is well with at work. ;-) )
John
Having some issues with the latest version.
When I launch Woopra it downloads the latest patch… Woopra uns for a little while the loses connection.. When I kill Woopra and restart, it downloads the patch again… Wash Rinse and repeat.. :)
USing MAC verison.
Woooooow its here and 48 hours working is alot. I am gonna wait till the auto enabled version sees the light.
er, maybe it’s me!
.. but when I upgrade using Linux, and at the end of the install it offers to open Woopra, up it pops, only to say .. “Upgrade Required”
Have tried upgrading from 1.3 to both 1.3.1 and the RC6, wiht the same deal.
I used the regular procedure (as far as I know) ..
cd Desktop
chmod +x woopra..etc
sh woopra..etc
.. maybe I should post this in the forum .. er, yes, will do!
is this now final, or will there be a further update? Thanks.
I love the new Woopra. I played around with it this morning. I went out for a few hours and then tried to access Woopra again. It keeps saying I need to upgrade, but I have 1.3 RC6 (for Mac). Is anyone else experiencing this?
Wendy,
These are great comments and feedback, so don’t feel bad! We love to hear ideas on how to improve things. No matter how good it is, it can always be better! :-)
Elie will take a look at the colors for the next release and see if we can’t make it stand out a bit more.
John P.
I love the new user interface on this release. However, I had no success in testing the chat. I’m totally excited to see this feature work! I got a “chat request has been sent” and a “received your chat request” but then nothing else. I tried someone in Russia and someone in the U.S.. but the same thing happened on both.
On the Dashboard in the Overview wasn’t the visitors, visits and pageviews three different colors? I think there was a green in there somewhere. In my opinion, it would be easier to tell my stats apart if each item was its own color.
I hate to be critical because this is such an awesome piece of technology. :-)
Blessings,
Wendy
while we’re at it, it sure would be nice, now that 1.3 is ‘final’ and the stuck visitors problem is still a big issue – would you please comment on the issue and what is being done to resolve it and will there be a resolution any time soon? (again, I’m not trying to complain, but this has been my biggest concern and it will drive away customers who are impacted and it has been almost 3 months since it was first reported).
Good to see you Daniel! Hope all is well!
John
Have made comments on the woopra forum – still many bugs but getting better – wishing I wasn’t stuck with stuck visitors tho… More testing in the morning.
Good work team!
Yay! Awesome work.
Me too! I’m loving it! :-)
All I’ve got to say is …. “WOW!”
I’ll make sure to have those fixed/added
The outgoing chat comment box that I type in is hard to in that dark navy color. It’s not intuitive. Can you lighten the color so that I can see it’s there? Also can I retag the visitor with a name while I’m chatting with him?
Yesss, repaired! Cool man, thanks!
on RC5, my alerts stopped working, let’s see if this new version that was fixed!
