MUCH thanks to Terry G for forwarding this video on to me. Before I saw this, my stomach was all tied up in knots and I was just an anxious mess. I mean the fact that there are always too many hot dogs, and not enough buns, has been clearly unacceptable!
Come on people! Why can’t Oscar Meyer and Wonder just call a truce and negotiate a settlement on what the proper number of dogs and buns to a package should be! As the person from Kraft said in this video by John Hargrave, “…sir we don’t work together with Wonder….” Well, that’s obvious! But maybe you should my friend! Maybe you should.
I really want to watch this video because I cannot see it from this link. Does any one know where I may find it. I’ve searched everyone
The metric answer is the best conclusion to this problem anyone has ever come up with
The answer is obvious.
Buns use the English measuring system and hot dogs use metric. ;-D
Believe or not, I actually have a degree in Food Technology. This same question was batted around back then and we were told that WonderBread (or it may have been Rainbow bread) had done a marketing study to find out if they should put the same number of buns in a package as hot dogs. Apparently they found out that people actually liked having extra buns so they continue to package them that way. I can’t verify if this is true, but you have to think that from a sales point of view, it is advantageous because you have to buy more packages to get the right number.
Terry would make a problem out of nothing…how about just buying a Ballpark Frank. They taste better and come in a pack of 8.
BTW, I found the perfect item for my little green friend. Its called the Mexican Hotdog. Big beef frank, wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Come on down for a visit and I’ll buy you one at Big Daddy’s Burger Bar.
It becomes even more complicated when I buy brats (hotdogs are a failure by comparison). The brats always come in packs of 6. So, to get the right amount of buns and brats, I need to get four packs of brats and three packs of buns.
I guess I could do one pack of dogs, one pack of brats, and two packs of buns, but honestly, who wants a hot dog when a brat is available?
For the record, the wheat buns are best.
