Sometimes spammers are the biggest idiots in the universe. So, I got an email with a bunch of junk in it from someone who subscribed me to a list that I didn’t ask to be part of. And this was at the end of the message:
NOTICE: This e-mail message and any attached files are confidential and are legally privileged. They are the property of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. If you are not the addressee, any disclosure, reproduction, copying, distribution or other dissemination or use of this communication is strictly prohibited. If you have received this transmission in error, please notify the sender immediately and then delete this e-mail message, in its entirety and with all attachments, from your system. E-mail transmission cannot be guaranteed to be secure or error-free as information could be intercepted, corrupted, lost, destroyed, incomplete and/or contain viruses. The sender therefore does not accept any liability whatsoever for errors or omissions in the contents of this message or anything else arising from this e-mail transmission.
Can you believe the audacity of some people?
- No one who has “confidential” information should ever be transmitting it via email.
- When you blast an email to a massive list of unknown people it is no longer “confidential”.
- What’s this bullshit about the sender not accepting any liability – when they want the receiver to accept it!
- If there was anything really juicy attached, I would have definitely shared it!
By the way, it was also mailed from a company in Europe – to me, in the USA. So what the hell would they even do about it if I did share something juicy? We don’t even have the same laws!
