How to Walk on Water

John P.

November 16, 2006 By John P.

VideoCameraSo, you want to know how to walk on water? Here you go:

  1. Get a concrete mixer truck and fill it with cornstarch and water.
  2. Pour the entire mix into a swimming pool.
  3. Move fast!

This Spanish television show filled a pool with a mix of cornstarch and water made on a concrete mixer truck, which became a non-newtonian fluid. When stress is applied to the liquid it exhibits properties of a solid.

If you want to experiment with this stuff at home here is all the info and the the recipe. And if you want to make a bunch of other funky liquid/solids here are those recipes.
