The OneMansBlog.com 6 Month Anniversary!

John P.

January 23, 2007 By John P.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 6 months already since I created my first post on One Man’s Blog, but I guess it’s just because time flies…!

To start with, I’d like to thank all of YOU! My loyal readers truly give me the motivation to tackle this project each and every day. What started out as a way for me to simply share some knowledge has become extremely rewarding as I receive constant feedback from all of you regarding things you’ve read on the blog.

Here are a few milestones as we turn the 6 month marker:

Returning VisitorsThe site has received well over 23,000 unique visitors who have viewed more than 275,000 pages!

  • According to Google Analytics you folks are an intensely loyal bunch, with over 58% of visits being return visitors.
  • Monthly traffic and subscribership has increased at an average rate of 57% per month since inception (not inclusive of first month growth).
  • 77% of readers are US based with the remainder coming mainly from Canada, The UK, Russia, China, Australia, Japan, Germany and Italy.

Here’s what the sites growth stats look like. Even by Internet standards these are pretty impressive:

Traffic Stats

The question now will be whether the trend continues into 2007? I’ll really appreciate every one’s continued support to help spread the word by e-mailing articles you like, DIGGing them, bookmarking them in del.icio.us and generally telling people you know.

It’s also interesting that visits are spread across all days of the week, and times of the day:

Traffic by Day of the Week Traffic by Hour of the Day

I want to continue to encourage everyone to feel free to post comments and feedback on the articles. Heck, I don’t even mind if you have a dissenting opinion! That’s the beauty of the Web… it brings us all together to share and explore ideas.

If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s actually pretty easy. First just register for a free account on the site, then log in. Assuming you are using cookies, your Web browser will remember you each time you visit and you won’t have to repeatedly log in to post comments.

You’ll see the comment box below every article so feel free to chime in even if it’s just to say you enjoyed the post! In fact, why don’t you reply to this one and let me know what you’ve enjoyed reading about? Feedback about the types of things you’d like to see more or less of will help guide me and make the site even better!

Anyway, let me just say Thanks one more time! If you keep coming back, I’ll keep writing!

Sincerely,

John “One Man” Pozadzides
