Now This is How to Tow a Car!
I didn’t even know machines like this exist, but apparently there are tow trucks that literally just pick cars up and put them on the back of a flatbed before driving them off to tow truck hell (or wherever they go).
Thanks to Karen R. for pointing out these crazy towing videos, and also to Bert for pointing out the must-see Maserati accident below!
This first video demonstrates a free-hanging technique where the Tow Truck hooks straps from a crane under the wheels and hoists it up on to the flatbed.
This next Tow truck has an interesting side mounted hoist that just scoops a car up and carts it away on it’s back. This one seems to be the fastest – by far!
Next comes a method that reminds me of a whale transport. They hook giant straps up under the belly of the car and lift it onto the truck.
This one looks to me like kind of a combination between the first and third ones above…
Finally, no collection would be complete without a little accident, so keep in mind that it’s a really bad idea to attempt to move a Maserati with a forklift! Oh, and I hope these guys have good insurance.

Well it shows how much money is wasted on stupid ideas to move illegally parked cars. why don’t they hire proffessional theives to break in and drive them away.
Because that would be a criminal act ! . Most cars, or other vehicles, which get towed/lifted, are not really illegally parked, but have just over-run the time on the parking ticket by a few minutes. What is needed is the removal of the crazy, greedy regulations which were instituted by evil lefties, not the cars etc. .

the first vid is nothing. anyone who’s watched the film Johnny English will know how much fun can be had if you commandeer the truck when it scoops your Aston Martin DB7. and you’re totally incompetant compared to your sidekick.
Contained within my love for trucks, is a strange love for tow trucks, too! haha! Out of the above types, I was most enthralled with number two – my reaction was much like that of the photographer! Very cool! I absolutely love the big semi tow trucks – those things are just awesome! We have one right up the road from us and I love looking at it when I go by. Either they keep painting the sucker, or they keep getting new ones, because, the color of it changes frequently – odd, though entertaining for the kids and I!
Dropping the Maserati – oh, ouch. That was hard to watch, and I would love to know the whole story before and behind that horrible blunder!
2 out of 5 videos are now not available… I think you are right, the youtube guys must be following your site – I just do not understand why they would remove these videos.. are they against some policy?

The second one looks like two frontend of industrial lifttrucks placed on the back of the truck. These liftrucks are what you see moving pallets around warehouse including places like Costco, the lift and can extend forward so they do the job well for extending forward and lifting a car.
