This is a new series I’m launching here on OneMansBlog designed to introduce you guys to some of the people I follow on Twitter, and explain exactly why I follow them. I’m going to do this for two reasons:
- There are still a lot of people who think that Twitter is a silly little site where people talk about what they eat. They are wrong. If you follow the right people, Twitter can be an amazing tool for education, entertainment and more.
- The biggest problem with Twitter is finding quality people to follow. Its taken me years to amass the folks I follow, though I add and delete people occasionally. So I might as well help you guys find new quality folks to keep an eye on.
Jane_Bot’s tagline is, “I’m sorry if I offend you. For those that I don’t, I will try a little harder.” And that’s not a joke. If you’ve got sensitive eyes you don’t want to follow Jane. She’s going to talk
about sex nonstop, to start with. But if you’re ok with a racy sense of humor I promise you are in for a treat! Jane_Bot could very well be a comedy writer, because she is hill-arious!
In addition to being funny, Jane_Bot’s got a blog. And her creativity knows no end. I can’t understand how she comes up with 3-5 funny original Tweets every single day, but if you add to that some of the stuff she creates and posts on the blog, its amazing.
So that’s enough! Follow @Jane_Bot… if you dare. And Jane if you’re out there… drop me a line cause I’d love to meet you next time I’m in New York!
hey i follow her too. makes my day. and shes pretty, so, go figure
@John, you’re right, it’s very hard to tell if she’s real, but that bot is funny as heck!
I am too, but not when I’m at the computer. Gotta use that notebook I carry around more often. I would, if there were some way to make $ from my ingenious and hilarious stuff I come up with.
Any tips on that?
I thoughts of starting a blog, but…no time if it’s not fruitful (and if there’s a way to be fruitful with witting saying, trust! fo sho I got this! Er, um, if I can figure out the tech-how part).
Sera,
If you don’t have time to blog, then set up a Twitter account and a Facebook account! Use Tweetdeck to periodically post your funny stuff to both of them (takes like 5 seconds), and tell everyone you know to follow you and help spread the word.
If you can build up a healthy number of followers then you could make a little money off it by periodically sharing an affiliate link to a product you love, or by doing a sponsored tweet.
There are millions of ways to monetize social media, but the first step is to actually get started! :-)
Cheers,
John P.
It’s hard to find interesting people on Twitter. I’m just following a bunch of people who follow me – and a lot of them do just talk about what they are eating. Ooops I gotta go, my ravioli is ready.
Well how did you find her in the first place?
See is the little ray of perversion I needed to fill the “all friends” column of tweet deck.
*She* damn you audio correct. http://damnyouautocorrect.com/
