Enzyte Faces $500 Million Fine!

John P.

July 21, 2008 By John P.

EnzyteYou know those really, really annoying “male enhancement” commercials that have been running for so long that you wonder how the heck they haven’t been yanked off the air by now? Well, it seems that the company, and the CEO, behind them is being bent over by the courts.

The parent company of Enzyte has been been found guilty, and the CEO faces up to 20 years in prison.

Judge Spiegel maintained that Warshak and other chief executives engaged in fraud, money laundering and deceptively promoted bogus claims about the product’s effectiveness. The fraud was so widespread that it “tainted almost every dollar the company earned during its most profitable years” so federal prosecutors believe the company should have to give up almost all of its revenue.

For those of you who don’t live in the US, or haven’t seen these commercials, here is a sample – featuring “Smiling Bob”, the company spokesman.

Leave it to the FTC why not take the annoying Viagra and cialis advertisements of TV also, yes they work but so does enzyte just maybe not with the harsh effects of the other alternatives , but hey the Drug companies win here.

What about the TV stations and networks that carry the fraudulent advertisements? Surely they realize that the advertisements are fraudulent. That indicates that they have no business ethics.

The advertisements have been on the air for months now. What’s wrong with the FTC, the branch of the federal government charged with dealing with false advertising? There was a time when the FTC would quickly have taken action.

I just wish that those stupid commercials would show a bit less.

After hearing all the horror stories about them, they probably deserved it.

Their business model is something like this: sell a more or less useless product that plays on the vanity and insecurity of Americans, continue to charge their credit cards to ship product not ordered, and laugh all the way to the bank. oops. If you stiff enough people, you might get in trouble. What a surprise – not.

They were stiffing their customers all along. How wood you feel if that was the case? Limp, deflated perhaps? LOL!

It is nice to see people being held accountable for their actions. Lets hope this trend continues with politicians and other high flyers!
