Ok. This scares the crap out of me! Sarah Palin’s church, Wasilla Assembly of God, apparently has created the Master’s Commission: Wasilla Alaska which is some kind of… um, I don’t know what to call it… cult? And for the record, she was baptized in this church at age 12 and attended it for most of her adult life. As I understand it, when she was inaugurated as governor, the founding pastor of the church delivered the invocation.
Anyway, no need to guess as to what is being preached, luckily all of the sermons are online so you can spend as much time listening as you please.
According to one anonymous person, you’ll hear the following if you listen to them (heck, I’m not gonna do it):
- “Pastor Kalnins” has also preached that critics of President Bush will be banished to hell; questioned whether people who voted for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 would be accepted to heaven; charged that the 9/11 terrorist attacks and war in Iraq were part of a war “contending for your faith;” and said that Jesus “operated from that position of war mode.”
- Kalnins bristled at the treatment President Bush was receiving over the federal government’s handling of Hurricane Katrina. “I hate criticisms towards the President,” he said, “because it’s like criticisms towards the pastor — it’s almost like, it’s not going to get you anywhere, you know, except for hell. That’s what it’ll get you.”
- Kalnins has preached that the 9/11 attacks and the invasion of Iraq were part of a “world war” over the Christian faith, one in which Jesus Christ had called upon believers to be willing to sacrifice their lives.
- He preaches repeatedly about the “end times” or “last days,” an apocalyptic prophesy held by a small but vocal group of Christian leaders. During his appearance with Palin in June, he declared, “I believe Alaska is one of the refuge states in the last days, and hundreds of thousands of people are going to come to the state to seek refuge and the church has to be ready to minister to them.
Anyway, ignoring all of that, just watch the promotional video for their “intense discipleship training program”:
It reminds me of the Oklahoma City bombing, or even more like the David Koresh compound in Waco, Texas. I really mean that too.
So, here are a couple of parts from a lecture that Palin herself gave at her church with her preacher. Hard to say what scares me the most, but I’m certainly not calmed by her statements about the war in Iraq being a holy war:
“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan, and that that plan is God’s plan.”
(PS – If these videos get removed from YouTube try this link.)
Part 1
In which:
- Sarah gives a lecture saying that God needs to help build a pipeline in Alaska.
- She says that if people’s hearts are not right with God that nothing else matters.
- And goes on to state that the War in Iraq is God’s plan.
Part 2
In which:
- One of Sarah’s ministers says, “God wants to tap into the oil as a refuge.”
- The other one starts crying while he’s saying a prayer.
- Near the end of the video her minister conveys a Master’s Commission diploma on Sarah.
- Palin’s final comment: “I gew up at Wasilla Assembly of God, nothing freaks me out about a worship service!”
And to sum things up, here is “A Deeper Look” at the Master’s Commission: Wasilla Alaska.
Your thoughts?
Before we go all crazy about this we need to remember just how much more radical Obama’s church is. It’s ridiculous. Just do a youtube search to find out.
It seems that the video is a “wake up call” for all who seek the One True GOD. I don’t see America burning but a world awakening to the battle of GOD vs Satan here on the Earth. Choose a side, GOOD GOD or Evil Satan. And this is not something made up. IT IS REAL. And very scary to the unsaved (those who don’t believe in GOD’s Word THE BIBLE and His son JESUS CHRIST who died for ALL – EVERYONE’s SIN will when they die GO TO HELL – FOREVER). Thats a long.. long.. long.. long time. Please choose GOD . If your sure you don’t want to go to HELL forever then pray to GOD and ask Him to open your eyes and forgive your sins. He must answer your prayer. If you believe in the death, burial and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST and accept Him as your personal Savior, when you die you will be in heaven. If you don’t …. you will be judged for your sins and sent to HELL forever.
Please read 1Cor. 15:1-4, John 3:15-16, Rev. 19:7-9, John 3:36
You have until you die to decide, but once you die the state which you die in is FOREVER(SAVED or NOT SAVED).
Aren’t you glad you are able to voice you opinion in the good ole USA…..You think about an unborn fetus, no rights there, if you can’t afford to raise it, put it up for adoption. There are so many people wanting children that are unable to have them.
I differ with you on the success of America….we are a country founded upon God and “HE” has blessed this nation, but it needs to turn back to Him so He will continue to keep His hand upon us. Have you stopped and thought about the “end of this world as we know it?” It will take being born again of the Lord to make it to heaven. And that is my goal, that everyone would be able to enter in. Jesus is the way and the ONLY way that man can enter into heaven. I am praying for all those who are distraught, poor and I for one, put my hands to help anyone I see that is in need. So, I don’t just write my opinions and let the world roll by. People need our love and support, they need to know that we care. I thank God that I live in America and that I still have my freedom, afterall, it did not come cheap!
wise words.

Actually, the phrases “in god we trust” and in the pledge “under God” were actually put there NOT by a concensous of our founding fathers or any group of leaders, but actually were put in by a religious friend influencing the person in charge of printing the coin, and similiar for the pledge. Our early lobbyists.
We do exercise more freedoms here in the U.S. than most places, but part of that is possible by how the mainstream media and easy life keep people sheltered from the realities of the real world. Which is why this country was created by immigrants, but now we are so arrogant that we barely allow anyone into this country and discriminate against those who have worse lives than us.
The success of the U.S. is based on rich resources and industrialism and military power. Now, our society relies on OIL so much that we are invading other countries to keep control of it to survive.
We enslave third-world countries to give us our cheap materialistic goods. We allow China to displace the people in African countries for OIL which has caused ethnic cleansing, rape, torture..so much death. Because the majority of our society is so low-class we now rely on China. So yes, people are bleeding and dying for our way of life.
Abortion has existed since people have existed. Making a law that makes it illegal does not make it go away! We need to address the reasons people have abortions and eliminate the causes of abortion.
Yes, America does need to wake up!
YES.
please wake up my american friends and see how far you have already gone.

At least they do believe in God….this nation was founded on God, our money still states “In God We Trust”. We have rights that alot of third world countries do not have. Think about it, if those people talked about their leaders like americans do, they would be “quieted” I am sure. Freedom of speech is a good thing, but FREEDOM, that we have in the United States is another. It was fought for and men and women bleed and died for our freedom. The same with Jesus, he bleed and was put to death to save us from the curse of sin. I for one, am a American that is proud of my country and I hold to the fact that we are “One nation under God”….Bring on the morals, stand for the family, don’t kill our unborn babies, let them live, we should not put our children to death! Americans need to wake up and see where they are!
That cracked me up. Thanks for some great posts John!
I went to Master’s Commission. It’s worldwide, not just in Palin’s home church. There are over 60 accredited M.C.’s worldwide. In the Bible, God stated that a country will get the leader it deserves. I believe that wholeheartedly. I think we should have someone in politics that believes in something and just just in themselves. Someone that has a strong sense of ethics and a great moral background. Palin is not corrupt, like many in the realm of politics. I leave you with this…believe in something or you’ll fall for anything.
Hey Mark (and Sarah below too),
To be honest, I don’t care who wins the election really. I don’t think it’ll matter much in my life either way. ;-) I’m definitely a centrist, so don’t worry that I’m either on the right or the left. I’m picking on Sarah’s church, but don’t forget, I was picking on Obama’s previously!
Oh, and I’m not done yet. There will be two more days of posts about the election, but the good news is that I’ll be done for a while after that. Just had to get it all out of my system, then we’ll go back to the cool stuff like sex, drugs and cars. ;-)
he,he,he.
John
i AM WITH mARK…..
I TRY NOT TO JUDGE ANYONE BASED ON RELIGION. I MAY NOT AGREE AND I MAY THINK IT’S A LITTLE OUT THERE…..BUT I DON’T AGREE THAT ANYONE SHOULD USE THEIR INFLUENCE TO SWAY ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING I LIKE TO READ ON BLOGS. I HOPE YOU DON’T CONTINUE IN THIS DIRECTION.
Seems to me John, what is scaring the crap out of you is the turn of events in the race. Two postings in a row in OMB about Sarah Palin seems to illustrate your fear. When even Newsweek puts out piece that says Palin is getting “slimed” by the media, things are getting desperate for your dogs in the hunt. IMO, OMB is much more interesting when you don’t let your politics show. Hey, but if it gets you more hits, who am I to say.
It will be interesting to see what the lifespan of this will be, if any. One thing is for sure, if it has legs, we’ll be talking more about Jeremiah Wright again. To think, I went a boring Catholic Church growing up and had priests that put me sleep in the pews. Stay tuned. Can’t wait for the October Surprise(s)!
