I stayed at the Embassy Suites Convention Center Las Vegas located at 3600 Paradise Road while in town for the BlogWorld convention. There were a lot of good things about this hotel, and really only a couple of negatives. And to cut to the chase, I would stay here again… although with a couple of caveats.
The people were very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were quite clean, and very roomy. The furniture and room features were reasonably up to date, and everything was fairly comfortable.
There is a gas station and a McDonalds right next door in case you want something to snack on. But here is the kicker… this hotel has major problems with getting taxis. It took 20 minutes every time we needed one, and they were slow and rude when they arrived. One taxi even drove up and then sped off without picking us up. I have no idea why, but the guy at the desk said it does happen a lot.
So, the only way I’d stay here again, is if I had my own car. Other than that, the rooms (we had 6 at $199 per night each) were great.
You know, you guys are right. I forgot to mention it, but now that you bring it up, everyone in our party raved about the free breakfast, and even I took advantage of the afternoon happy hour one day. They had free beer and snacks for all. Certainly a plus!

I’ve stayed at Embassy Suites in Oregon and Washington, and I like what you get for what you pay. The rooms are generally good enough, but the best part is the free food!
I stayed at the Embassy Suites a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta for a tradeshow there and there was a similar problem with taxis. We went out to dinner one night and called our own taxi and when it arrived, the hotel tried to give it to another guest who was going to the airport.
That was really the only downside to my stay there though. I’d definitely stay there again. For 2 big reasons:
1) Free Breakfast
2) Free “Manager’s Reception” (read: free happy hour drinks :)
