Fantastic video on the progression of information technology, researched by Karl Fisch, Scott McLeod, and Jeff Bronman, remixed. I actually thought I posted this video previously, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Even if I did, it’s worth taking another look.
The concept of the video is to throw out statistics at you which are shocking, enlightening, or just plain make you think. For example:
- If you are one in a million in China, there are 1,300 of you.
- The number of text messages sent daily exceeds the population of Earth.
- By 2013 supercomputers will be more powerful than the human brain.
So, what are we to make of all this?
Thanks to Mike Mitchell for sending this vid my way!
that video was pretty cool lol.
Yeah Aaron, I know what you mean. I could have sworn I posted it before, but I couldn’t find it either!

It’s funny—I thought I saw this video on your blog a few months ago, but now I can’t find it—Feels like deja vu.
Wow, this sounds scary!
There is definitely an exponential growth curve here, and it is only a matter of time before machine is far superior to man…..hmmm, the possibilities are mind boggling, but I don’t quite foresee a Terminator type apocalyptic scenario unfolding!
The stats are really unbelievable. The world is going at a very fast pace. We need to slow down a wee bit and breathe a bit.
Great video about science progress and internet development. I insert this video to my blog in last post, thank you for interest publication!
