Well, its been a few years since I made any major changes around here – and that is too long! So some of you may have already noticed… but we have a brand new theme thanks to Scott Ellis!
But that’s not all. Thanks to the Copyblogger team for starting up their new Synthesis Web hosting division! Their service is engineered for speed, reliability, and most importantly can easily handle high traffic sites like OneMansBlog.com. I’m sure you’ve noticed the massive speed improvement on the site in the last couple of days, and that’s due 100% to the Synthesis team.
But wait! There’s more! When Scott and the Synthesis boys were trying to get everything fixed and moved, they encountered some hidden malware in the OMB theme files on the old server. That is enough to freak anyone out; but in this case the boys over at Securi went in and completely cleaned everything up!
Wow! What fantastic service! And if you ever get any sort of WordPress virus, infection, etc. you need to turn to the experts to get it taken care of. Better yet, sign up for ongoing protection and sleep well at night.
Anyway, that is the quick update. What does everyone think about the new design and the site performance?!? I’m loving it. Hope you do to…
Hello,
Sorry for posting this a bit late, but yes, loving the new look. Looks a lot cleaner, and more organized. Before, if I recall correctly, there were some images that weren’t positioned right, among other things.
So, keep the new look.
The new theme looks great!
The only bit that I think could do with a little bit of refinement is the header – the logo/text looks a little lost in all that whitespace (also seems to be reverting to Arial on most pages).
Hope you don’t mind, but I had a little play with these two alternative header ideas:

Yeah, I agree. :-) I’ll see what Scott can do about it. Thanks for the feedback and the mockup!
Gary/Adam, thanks for the info. We are still in there with Sucuri eliminating backdoors and locking down various parts. It sometimes takes a pass or two but we’ll get this thing cleaned up and locked down. Thanks again for the feedback.
I just got the same thing as Gary. AVG phoenix exploit kit. I’m sure it’s an easy fix.
Thanks for all the great posts. The new site design is great!
Strange, because I removed the audio player plugin altogether. I’m not sure how that exploit could still be present…
Great job Scott
For some reason John, AVG had an issue with your new page. A phoenix exploit kit in an audio player…Just saying.
Thanks for the heads up Gary. I’ll ask the team to check on that again, because I know they already removed some issues. I wonder if your AVG is pulling from a database of previously found issues, or if it found it when you arrived at the page?
Kaspersky does the same, John – about the player. -)
The new design looks neat.
Duuuude! Awesome times a billion!! I popped on on my tablet, thinking I’d just *try* and see if it will load for me…and WHAMMO BLAMMO!!! POW!!!!
