Google Sucks Again!!!
Damn! Someone over at Google has seriously got it out for me! Why is it that just 30 days ago I reported that I was number 2 for a search for “John P.” and number 12 for the word “John“, but just today I was amusing a friend and noticed that if you search for John I’ve now dropped to number 206! Oh, and Pope John Paul II just passed me for “John P.” But I’m going to let that one slide…
Oh, this is such a huge blow to my ego. I’m just not sure I can keep going on. I’m no longer more important than John Dvorak, Sir Elton John, John Travolta, and the Johns Hopkins University. How do they justify this egregious act!
I’m telling you. Someone over at Google reads my blog and they are manually manipulating results to keep The Man down! Just like YouTube. Those people keep turning off the videos I link to within a day, even if they’ve been on YouTube for a year! And just because of a little copyright violation? Bah!
These big and powerful Internet companies need to stop messing with little old me.

You people don’t get it. Webmasters and businesses have very little choice but to use Google because of their traffic. Google is exploiting that power. More competition, means a better deal for everyone (except Google). Go and earn your pennies from adsense.
It’s interesting how it’s different around the world. It’s currently sitting at #2 out of 70.7 million from here in Texas.

Now we’re getting to the long and the short of it! Youtube makes more sense now, as for Google, why not ask Matt Cutts for some advice?
John u are at number 4 for me in google searches.I think they are changing there algorithm once again so these ranking problems.I heard somewhere its called as google dance.I also heard that the Updates are due this month end so u may be seeing these variation.i guess u just need to chill for a while and once this google dance is over you will be at your spot again if not at #1 :D

I have seen my site SalaryMap.com go from ranking top five for all kinds of salary survey search terms (like “city manager salary survey”) and getting 1000 or more visitors from Google to zero visitors and no rankings over night. This has happened more than once, it can be slightly distressing. :)
What I have found each time is that I had some techical difficulty, either I coded a page and didn’t consider how user imput might cause a page problem (like not escaping quotes from user input, duh!) or in a recent case, my shared host upgraded something and I had a URL rewrite that failed. The best way for me to find these Google ranking problems has been using Google’s Webmaster tools. If Google sees a problem with your site they list it there, if you don’t react, then Whamm! they get your attention the hard way.

Well, it’s not that my embedding it is a violation… but I often embed things for you guys to check out which I know shouldn’t actually be on YouTube. ;-)

Why would that be a copyright violation? They encourage people to embed their videos and they even provide the link code for it on their page.

My site went from 20009900 to 23678996, in page rank, I am upset, I guess it is a matter of scale. ;-)
Thats sad…. Google is monopolizing the internet..
But nothing can stop them untill microhoo comes up.
