matt-mullenweg-on-business-of-bloggingI had the honor and privilege of moderating a power packed panel at WordCamp Dallas comprised of Matt Mullenweg, Mark Ghosh, Liz Strauss and Aaron Brazell on the topic “The Business of Blogging”.

The panelists discussed how businesses of any size might better incorporate blogging and other forms of new media into their marketing and product development plans.

This was a great panel. The questions asked were very realistic and in-line with the line of thinking businesses go through when deciding whether to open this channel of communication with their customers. I’ve been through a couple startups and seen other companies who have been very successful because of how they communicate with their customer. One of the best examples was Matt’s take on Microsoft, where blogging changed their image from an evil, faceless corporation to people who are just like the rest of us.
