Tattoos have really increased in popularity over the last decade or so. It seems like everyone has one, and also like everyone has an opinion about them! Ignoring men altogether at the moment, lets talk about women tattoos. Hot? or Not?
Here’s a collection of beautiful and artistic tattoos on women. Each seems to have been tastefully executed and from an artistic perspective the imagery is nice. The question is, can you see the woman behind the tattoo? What does the tattoo say about each of these women. And more importantly, does it matter why the woman’s tattoo is there (for example, some of these tattoos memorialize loved ones lost)?

I like the ink. I never thought of it as being trashy. I also don’t think this is a sexist question. My wife has ink and so do I. The art of tattooing has been around since the days of antiquity and is an art form. I think the ink on these women look great and people who are quick do dish out negative criticism simply need to lighten up. I love the fact that as human beings we can express our individualism in so many ways. This is a great post!
Why needs crating tattoos in body .. i know this is harmful to us … why man not conscious about this …. this is too much … i think every body avoid this with all harmful package ….. thanks to your post ..
These tattoos are nice…I resent the question: “Sexy or trashy?” It is just so sexist. Grow up! I think the act of tattooing is different for everyone. Some have a very superficial approach while others are transformed by the experience and grow with their tattoos. In our culture they’re used to express individuality, while also aligning us with counterculture to some degree. If it isn’t in your body why are you making a judgment? What you are asking says more about your ignorance than it does these women.
As an older man, ( who thought he looked ‘cool’ ) many years ago, I had numerous “artworks” tattooed onto my body, and as I got older, regretted virtually every one, not because I have changed my likes/ dislikes about tattoos, but just got fed up with looking at the same old (meaningless) pictures.
Whilst not being a great fan of tattoos on females personally, I think it’s a personal choice / decision of that individual, and would like to offer my advice to anybody, ( male or female ), if I may, and that is if you are planning to get anything done, please think long & hard about what you have done, where you have it situated on your body, and try to find the best quality artist you can find. (As it’s going to be there on your body for a very long time).
It’s tragic, I see so many beautiful young women who have ruined themselves by covering themselves in tattoos. If you say anything they get offended, say they’ll never regret them when they’re older & I just have to shake my head. One thing I learned as I got older was I didn’t have a clue what would be important to me as I got older & also that’s what’s important to you & how you feel about things changes. It’s just one of the ironies of life. People speak of getting a tattoo of something that “means” something to them, ok explain covering yourself like a doodle pad, what’s that mean. Reality is everyone is rebellious in their youth, hair, clothing, etc. as you mature you can change those things, tattoos all over your body, kind of hard to change. How many people still have the same hair, mode of dress, ideas, etc at 35 that they did at 20? While you may think in your youth that the things you find important wont change, trust me they will, it’s called growing up.
Same goes for men. I stopped watching NBA games because those players loaded with tattoos look like they need a long shower. Why disfigure your body? But, of course, its your body so to each their own but do we have to see them?
i think they are sexy i dont have not one tattoo on my body,i have beautiful silk banana creamskin.but all the ladys look nice wit there tatoos.
Very, very beautiful tattoos.
Trashy. Trashy not as in “promiscuous” – trashy as in “looks like trash”.
I love full back tattoos, especially on chicks
I am typically not a fan of tattoos. However, the images on your blog make them look so beautifully artful that I think I might actually want one!
It’s a personal choice to diminish one’s looks.
One word…Ugly.
I think some people make too big of a deal about tattoos! Interesting enough before I even had tattoos, I didn’t judge people who had them and barely even looked at them on other people. It’s no big deal, and what truly matters is someone’s character, and the matters of the heart! Some of the freest people I’ve met, have tattoos. You most definitely can’t put them in a box. Those who brag about not having tattoos, good for you, but don’t try to judge or tear someone down that does! People are people, regardless of having tattoos or not.
Yes, while websites like this ask for an opinion, and I agree think long and hard and search out a reputable artist, tearing down another person for a choice such as this is totally pointless and cruel to say the least. I have half a sleeve and am getting the rest done soon, I’m 43 and the rebel in me hasn’t changed. These women are lovely as are the Hollywood actresses with them!
Here is a case where less is more. The combination of a pretty woman and a tattoo or two is compelling. A sleeve or facial tattoo, multiple-more than 2 is now bordering on very not good, at least in my opinion. My husband has one on his upper arm commemorating his father and I have one on my lower back that is floral with my kids names subtly added. Again, just my opinion.
I just love looking at tasteful tattoos on gorgeous women…
Very attractive women and of course you hooked me with that. And the best part is it is still not bad enough to be NSFW

I think tattoos can be sexy. My wife has 2 and I have 3. They are definitely something that you can do wrong. It’s all about what you gt and where you get it. Original tattoos are the best. My wife designed one of her tattoos and it is awesome. As long as it means something to you, you can’t go wrong.
cool
Tattoes are not trashy, it’s art. However, some art is more disturbing than others. If you are doing tattooes for art, then you’re good. Any other reason, then yes-you are trashy.
i love the rose tatto on my wifes sexy ass ,its so sexy
i love my wifes rose tatto on the check of her sexy ass
I think tats are a personal choice. My tags were all well thought out. Together they tell my story. They are on my body and are only for me.
to me tattoos on weomen are one of the sexiest things on a woman especially if the woman is already attractive then the lady needs to add a few piercings to go with the tatts
tattoos are really cute i think it looks sexy on the body
Platform shoes, big hair, polyester pant-suits, shoulder pads… It takes a while for us to see how pathetically ugly the worst fads of an era are. Eventually, young people will be making fun of the trashy images this generation has covered itself with, while the old folks hurry to get their youthful mistakes removed.
Tattooing is hardly a ‘fad of an era’ comparable to shoulder pads, uninked. Tattooing as a form of body art has been in practice for thousands of years, as has piercing. It is alot more common and easily accessible in todays society, of course, but I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for the day that their popularity disappears.
I think women with tattoes are extremely sexy. They express their personalitys, and their sedements on life. They look so good on their skin, and is a terific canvas for a lot of beautiful artwork.
In my opinion, a few small tasteful tattoos on women looks cute. Covering yourself in tats from head to toe…not so much.
I think tattoos are great! The whole idea (imo) of beautiful women getting tattoos is to give the middle finger to “mainstream beauty”… what’s funny about that is, it has almost become mainstream for women to GET tattoos. So funny enough, going against the grain these days is choosing to not ink your body. My ex had a few tattoos that (in my youth) I found v e r y exciting and sexy– he was a bit of a rebel so the whole tattoo thing had agreeable symmetry with his entire persona.
My current boyfriend and I have naked skin ( ^_^ ) and we love each other the way we are. Had he had a tattoo when I met him, I still would be very much in love. If I’d had a tattoo when he met me, we’d still be in love. However, that being said, some tattoos serve as sort of a pot-mark on an otherwise gorgeous woman. Even if the tattoo itself is artistic — and please don’t hate me for saying this– one can’t help but wonder if the woman didn’t find herself very attractive in the first place and maybe that’s why she decided to get an interesting tattoo, basically so she’d be more appealing to a certain type of person. This is entirely circumstantial and I really have a few specific people in mind when I say this.
I really try not to generalize, though. I think “more power to ya” to the women who pull it off and love their tattoos. I secretly kind of wish I were the type to get one, but as it is, I prefer my natural skin. I’d rather be the muse to an artist than have artwork inked on m body– think Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly etc. classically beautiful women who ironically end up in several tattoos!
~ Peace and love
I have recently gotten a tattoo that covers the side of my forearm. I seem to notice a type of stigma from people about it. Wow, the art is beautiful and i just do not understand the the narrow road of some peoples minds. What is the deal with it already? Our society likes to think of themselves as so advanced, but
when you feel the insecurity in these people, you have to wonder, if they are secretly jealous of a free spirit.
After reading all of these posts, my mind even feels to be a little confused. In an honest opinion, tattoos seem to express what words or emotions cannot. For some, tattoos are an escape simply to explain a persons inner self. I have always been somewhat judgemental towards tattoos and have even fallen hinder to stereotyping those who have tattoos. This was until a series of events leading me to my first tattoo. Needless to say the amount of hours i spent wondering why i would put myself through the pain were agonizing yet worth every second. Today I have 23 stars, 7 music notes two birthdates wrapped within a quote that runs from my lower stomach, across my ribs up to my upper shoulder. It’s easily covered. Not trashy in anyway and something that truly makes me happy each day I wake up. I workout 3 hours a day, an 5’9″ and in the best shape of my life, to be honest my tattoo only enhances my body shape that I have created.
Tattoos are great.. most of the time harmless. However, one should take necessary precautions while getting tattooed. It is advised to do couple of research before getting tattooed.
I am very certain that most of us woman are not worried about being “marriage” material in a guys eyes because of a tattoo…
And as far as being worried what a tat will look like when I’m ageing… are you kidding me?
Angela I love your comment..
Women’s beauty comes in all shapes sizes and colors!
Women are the teachers of woman and together we are a beautiful and powerful force stronger than any army and capible of more love than the world could contain….
… we are a beautiful and powerful force stronger than any army and capible of more love …
But so, so with spelling, right? I guess no one’s perfect.
Great tatts can be amazing to look at, but if I was getting one, it would have to be mind-blowing. Just the same, what’s incredible today will always be ho hum, strange, peculiar, poor taste or just plain irrelevant not too far down the track. Also tatts are somewhat permanent, while any statement I might want to make isn’t. That’s what holds me back. It would have to be classic horimono if at all.
If you look at them as strictly “art pieces”, then sure, they look good. But if you are dating a woman like that, or married to one, I am not sure it’s the best look. That’s my opinion of course.
Does that mean that you are ready to date every girl that is not tattooed. No you won’t. So it totally depends on an ones choice what kind of girl one would like to date. There may be tattooed boys who would like to date tattooed girls. That’s my opinion.
Great tattooes and they are all beautiful! :)
Tattoo’s are a beautiful and vigerating way to express oneself. Some think they are trashy. Everyone is entitled to thier own thought’s. But have a open mind when thinking on certain subjects. I honestly think tattooed women are very sexy, and beautiful. And not scared to express themseleves. Thanks.
The photos of the girls are not made any sexier by their tattoos, many of the tattoos are in them self beautiful as are the women. But I don’t see them as adding to the women’s beauty. Many, not all, of the tats will age poorly and most, not all, of the women will regret their tats as colourful eagles turn to dark dragon shapes and leaping porpoises turn to lounging walruses. But hey its their bodies and they look good NOW.
I feel Tattoos show a lot about a persons creative side . It all depends on how you want to express yourself .
Plus if you never had one & judge others for there’s it really shows how close minded you are . Thats like knocking something for not understanding it if the world did that we would be full of close minded people .
Remember only person who can judge us is god & if your happy with yourself he accepts you ). Shouldn’t that be all that matters.
Why is it up to anyone to judge another’s beauty?
All i have to say is this is me…..like it…hate it….i don’t care…i have a beautiful full back and arm if u don’t like it don’t look at it
Tattoos can tell you a lot depending on where the tattoo is placed, what symbolism they used, and finding out why they got the tattoo, because symbolism changes by culture and so do the reasons for getting them. I have three and they have important meaning to me. None of them are placed on my crotch, lower back, on my boobs, neck, etc., because that’s tacky and trashy. You would never know I had them until I was undressed, because I got them for myself and not to impress anyone else.
Women can also tell a lot about the men they’re interested in by the way they react to the tattoos. If a man is instantly turned off simply because I have them, then I know he’s close minded and lacks creativity, which equals being terrible in bed. Men who lack a higher intelligence, attractiveness, and endowment large enough to please a woman are usually the ones who are most picky about how a woman should look and act. Men who are comfortable with themselves are also comfortable with strong independent women.
Tattoos can be used to size us up, but we also size you up by how you react to them.
I agree with your first paragraph….But you can not summarize a man and what he feels or thinks by his reaction to a tattoo Some men find a woman and her natural body as a work of art. Placing ink on it may just muddle up his thoughts of what beauty is for himself in a woman’s appearance. I find women to be attractive because that’s how a man is wired….if he wasn’t then we might not have a population as we now have. Drawings on the human body may have a certain meaning for you and that’s fine. Depending on the tat and where its located can make all the difference for me. I find the natural flsh of the woman to be more attractive than some artists rendering of a picture…..But I am not against a woman or man getting a tattoo. Honestly when I see a man with a tat I think that the man is just trying to show his masculinity and for me that doesn’t say much. But again this is my interpretation.
Personally
Beauty lies on the eye of the beholder. I like simple tatoos for myself hope to get one soon :)
tattoos on women are sexy as hell. some of the ones here are pretty dumb looking and that girl with the koi sleeve looks like a boy. my girlfriend is a tattoo artist so obviously she has quite a few herself and i find every one of them sexy.
My tatt is the best. A changing oak leaf, fallen on my shoulder. It says it all. I love having a piece of nature always with me.
Some of them are overly done and few of them are hot. :)
For those saying tattoos are not beautiful because they are not natural, how do you feel about face lifts? Hair dye? Manicures? Make up? Even shaving? All of these things are body modification, and we use them to adjust our body from what it is to what we feel is beautiful. Yes some are more extreme than others, but beauty is subjective. I am a tattooed woman. I plan on adding further tattoos to my collection. My husband finds them attractive so I have no worries. The most important thing is that when I see them, I feel beautiful.
All these things (if done correctly) that you named off, makeup, hair dye etc are made to enhance natural beauty. Not to completley change, but to slightly modify and can look very natural. What you see is what you get. Both of my beautiful sisters have tats, so I am not against a persons preference. My point is, a tatoo cant look natural, at all. Makeup, even perminant makeup can. Natural or not, its about the way it looks.
Dee maybe that is the real problem for yourself….You don’t find yourself beautiful and thus you have your body inked up…….Just saying….. I pay close attention to what people write. It is their true feelings coming out.
Larry, How does Dee’s very valid point about other types of body modifications suggest that she doesn’t think she is beautiful? That doesn’t make any sense. Your logic is flawed.
There’s no crime if you want just a little tattoo if you’re a girl. But some of these tattoo are just a little bit.. over rated.
When God made Eva, I’m sore He didn’t thought that a women can have something like that on her back
First off dude learn to spell eve right if your going to take a shot at something you apparently have no idea about.. and in my opinion if a woman wants to get tattoos on her body that’s her choice. God gave everyone a choice. And its up to you which one you choose. So before you talk dude… learn what your are making accusations about…..
Michael….before you talk learn to respect others and their thoughts. He is right to have these feelings…they are his and many others have the same feelings as him as many have the same feelings as you. Why so defensive?
Tattoo makes woman more sexy if it’s well done. Although I don’t like tattoos that cover whole body of woman. It covers whole beauty of person So I prefer small tattoos (2nd picture for example).
Having been tattooed myself, I think that moderation applies. It is all too easy to overdo things in this country…think fast food, reality tv, or even surfing the internet when you should be doing something else.
Tattoos ARE art, and some are very beautiful, but aside from ones covering the someone’s back I think less is more.
The human female form is one of the most beautiful in the animal kingdom. Comprised of simple curves, from the details of the face, the many features of the torso, to the arch of the foot, this collection of simple curves invite the eye to follow. Look at a simple S curve on a piece of paper, and your eyes follow it from start to finish like an optical roller coaster.
I personally consider tattoos upon this landscape as a distraction and nothing more. A billboard, no mater how artful in design, still detracts from the natural beauty of the landscape around it. A tattoo does the same.
Eddie, nicely put. Would really have to agree with you. However if I found a woman I loved and she had them I would not say goodbye to her either..
dear sara
big hi to you me from singapur and i want friendship with you so please can you join me at circles on gmail for video chat please i have interest in you so add me in circles and tell where from you are?
Some of them look nice but I personaly find tattoos on women gross. I remember one past experience where I was about to seal the deal with a lady, started pulling down her panties and she had one of those Hindu? ‘om’ symbols that looks like a reverse ‘3’ just above her landing strip. Game over.
Tell you what…send her my way…I’ll be glad to pick up your slack.
ricky32 must be single!!
They’re all beautiful. You can’t label how someone chooses to express themselves. It’s their body, life, and choice.
Love it!
Agreed, you are right on little lady. If you don’t like them, why are you here looking at them?
Some of these are sexy. Overall, tat’s on women are mostly disgusting. Why? Because where I live, most are stretched butterflies on the giant ankles of behemoth whales. Oops, I just spit up a little thinking about it.
You asked… so here I go!
Sorry… I find the art of the tattoo beautiful. Some of the designs are exceptional, and the creativeness behind some of the ideas are mind-blowing.
But it also destroys the beauty of the human body. I know… I’m probably the exception to most of the world now. But it just saddens me to see the human form covered with graffiti.
